    Episode 21 - Recalibrating

    Episode 21 - Recalibrating

An episode Pete described as the most masturbatory episode we've ever done. In this episode The Boys take some time to recalibrate and reassert their musical tastes by talking about what they've been listening to since the end of WBPT season 1. Pete reveals his secret hip-hop proclivities while Matt explains his K-pop fandom in a way that makes it sound like he's into K-pop for reasons other than the music (Which is not the case! He really just likes pop music sometimes!). A classic Pete/Matt hang out, mess-around chat.

Episode 20 - We're Back (With a Couple New Tracks!)

Episode 20 - We're Back (With a Couple New Tracks!)

It's been almost 4 years since the last episode, and with a new Decemberists album looming, the Boys are back to discuss/belittle their favorite band. In this episode, (a very sleepy) Matt and Pete are joined by returning guest (our first three-timer!) Steve Wissinger, to talk about the first two tracks released from As it Ever Was, So it Will Be Again; "Burial Ground" and "Joan in the Garden".

Also in this episode, Pete tries to rally everyone's spirits with a new segment, then Steve counters with a segment of his own, which Pete takes over and makes his segment. It's pandemonium.

Welcome to We Both Podcast Together Season 2!

    Episode 19 - A Black Prairie Christmas

    Episode 19 - A Black Prairie Christmas

Pete and Matt are joined by fan favorite (probably) guest Mason Redmon to talk about The Decemberists two Christmas songs, Decemberists side project Black Prairie, Canadian Sitcoms, Canadian crooners that hate Jesus, Alan Jackson, Creed, Die Hard, and, of course, 9/11. This is a wild one folks, truly a magical Christmas Journey. Happy Holidays! See you in 2021!

    Episode 18 - Tarkio

    Episode 18 - Tarkio

This week the boys are taking a listen to Colin's band when he was in college: Tarkio. The lads are joined by Justin Spaeth, who still reads a lot of books you guys, he's very smart. Also discussed: Mormons, Catholics, The Irish, and at some point Matt conflates two Sean Connery (RIP) movies titles and  confuses it for a non-Sean movie {(Highlander + Outland) - Sean Connery = Outlander}.

Episode 17 - Odds and Ends and Ghosts

Episode 17 - Odds and Ends and Ghosts

It's Halloween! (or close enough), and the lads get spooky talking about a collection of Decemberists tracks that only appear on various compilations/charity albums/soundtracks. Also discussed: ghosts, the election, and, weirdly, Saturday Night Live for an unusual amount of time considering both Pete and Matt claim not to watch it. It's a horrifyingly good episode!

PS: Stick around till the very end for an extra dose of fright!

    Episode 16 - The Rankings

    Episode 16 - The Rankings

Pete and Matt bring the first season of We Both Podcast Together to a close by ranking all of the Decemberists' albums and picking their favorite tracks. They also spend a lot of time talking about fast food burgers and Matt's incredibly logical and well thought out reason for hating dog owners.

I dig it

Though I disagree with them on some points (mariners revenge is the best decemberists song dammit) but I really like these guys personalities and listening to them joke around about stuff

Hope they make note after the season break. I’d listen to more (also btw guys I got into the decemberists in ‘10 when I was 16, I think there’s a lot to love for non millennials)

Love it!

It’s hard to find friends who like a reality obscure band such as “The Decemberists”, so “We Both Podcast Together” is sort of a substitute for having two (plus guests) friends that are also into the band

A insightful and hilarious look into one of my favorite bands

I’ve loved The Decemberists for years and listening to this podcast brings back such fond memories of shows I’ve gone to and re-listening to their early albums over and over again. I’m excited for the hosts to dive into their newer work, which I’m not as familiar with. Lots of fun little aside stories, re-tellings of interviews with the band and a fair amount of snark are to be heard here!
