IN THIS WEEKEND ARCHIVE EPISODE, PREVIOUSLY AIRED JANUARY 14, 2020: When you hear the name Jigsaw, you likely immediately think of the puppet with the creepy voice of a serial killer who sets up elaborate deaths for his victims in a game only he enjoys. But in 1935 another man’s brutal deeds earned him the same nickname… only his story wasn’t Hollywood fiction. (The Real Jigsaw) *** Could the legend of the Pied Piper hint at a real horrific event that befell the town of Hamelin more than 700 years ago? (The True Story of the Pied Piper) *** Ever woken up suddenly by a loud blast like a gun shot or slamming door, only to wake up and realize there really was no sound at all that was made? This is known as Exploding Head Syndrome, and if you’ve experienced it, you’ve likely not got long to live. Or do you? (Exploding Head Syndrome) *** In 1944, the small town of Mattoon, Illinois was terrorized by a man in black who, according to witnesses and testimony, attacked unsuspecting homeowners with a paralyzing gas he would spray through their windows. Who was he? Why did he do it? The man and the motive are still a mystery. (The Mad Gasser of Mattoon)

IN THIS EPISODE: It’s what every non-muggle dreams of… to be able to turn any metal into gold and to create a magic potion to give one eternal life! So is the life of wizarding at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books. But was there a real Philosopher’s Stone? Was there a Real Nicolas Flamel who created it? (The Real Nicolas Flamel and the Philosopher’s Stone) *** In 1929 the Soviet Union decided seven days a week just too many to keep track of, and it’s easier to count by five – so in the USSR they suddenly began to live life with only five days per week. No more weekends. How do you think the citizens took that news? (What is Life in a Five Day Week?) *** While not nearly as well-known as its larger Bermudan brother, the Bridgewater Triangle in southeastern Massachusetts in the United States is home to strange tales itself, with the paranormal, unexplained, and even home to its very own cryptid. (The Eerie Inhabitants of the Mysterious Bridgewater Triangle) *** Author Margaret Helen James wrote, “There is an uncomfortable sort of ghostly terror, in beast form, that haunts the villages on the borders of the two counties, which is commonly called the ‘Hateful Thing’. I allude to the churchyard or hell-beast.” Something was terrifying people in the marshlands of a small county in England and tales of it can still bring nightmares to those who live there today. I work as a delivery driver for amazon and I have worked 6 days a week since Covid hit. I love this show and it has kept me going every day while I am working.
Also more creepy pastas please. I have tried to listen to other podcasts that so creepy pastas but without your voice and overall production value, they don’t hold up at all.
