Being Poor after the Monasteries
Being destitute in the centuries after dissolution of the Monasteries created a need for government intervention to help deal with the elderly, disabled, infirm, orphans and those who were struggling to find work. from the 1500s to the beginning of the 19th century there was a lot of effort but not always done with the welfare of the poor in mind when taxes took over for donations.

Wonderful
Well produced podcast with great interest in accuracy. I have found this work to be helpful while researching my family's connection to Wales.
In depth and fascinating
I have listened to the first 13 episodes of Welsh History and I’m hooked!
Very wide scope of historical material taught in a comprehensive manner citing multiple sources, all the while acknowledging that much scholarship is based on incomplete information and conjecture.
Being the only member of my family not from Wales and having just returned from a “roots” tour, this podcast is well timed as I am thirsty, indeed, to reclaim the Welsh part of me.
Extremely adequate
This is a very informative and interesting podcast, well researched I believe. My only criticism really is that I feel the host should maybe do a bit more rehearsing before recording and/or editing after to make it feel less rushed/improvised. There are a significant amount of struggle with names, thought-gathering pauses, and restating. If tweaked a bot, this podcast could easily be as solid as the big named “History of” podcasts we all know and love.
