What in the Shibal Podcast Soogia & Ed Choi

On Ep 3 of S2 we missed a week for Mental Health for Susie.  May is AANHPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month.  Susie has been feeling so much pressure with being asked to do so much that she hasn't been able to do anything because she feels she is letting people down and couldn't get out of bed.  Archie gets neutered and in is in a cone for a couple more days.  Susie has a friend with a pregnant Cane Corso and is sort of considering it but they are so large and they already have two big dogs. Susie is feeling better now and is looking to possible get a adult diagnosis of ADHD.  Susie and Ed believe they both have adult ADHD because they have a lot of the symptoms of ADHD but need to be diagnosed.  Ed apologizes for the last episode after watching the episode. Ed sends Susie a box of desserts to cheer her up.  Ed gets his car back finally.  Would You Rather/This or That questions: Run from 1 Mountain Lion or Run from 1,000 Bees? Night in or go out? On Ep 3 of Season 2, Archie pees all over Ed's bed and Ed's dryer breaks down the same day so he has to get creative in drying his sheets. Susie also has a funny dog story involving a possum and crows.  Ed also has a story involving a possum. Susie's older daughter is running an experiment for the science fair answering if you can raise your spice tolerance, while her younger daughter is doing a wax museum project. Ed's mom redid some of his projects while he slept overnight. Susie and Ed discuss why women prefer to be isolated with a bear over a strange man. Tik Tok is about to get banned and Ed doesn't know if he wants to talk about it online but Susie would like to advocate for Tik Tok. Instagram has made people meaner. Susie and Ed are going to be doing a live recording of the What in the Shibal Podcast in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday May 18th at 3pm at a soon to be disclosed location during the AANHPI Month and would like everyone to write in questions for that episode.  Susie and Ed listen and react to Kpop songs from Boy Bands including... Ep 2 of Season 2 starts with Susie being exhausted but different reason than other more normal times... Susie woke up sitting straight up at 90 degrees.  Ed had a non-eventful week but also has a neighbor whose rabbits keep getting out of their house and yard and got a new designer dog that they named Soju.  Ed watched She-Devil and can't believe some of the actors in the movie. Ed and Susie are mesmerized by people who they didn't know had accents. JoJo Siwa rebrands herself but in the most tone deaf way possible. AITAs include: AITA for yelling at a 14 year old for trying to shorten my name to Jin? AITA for not letting BF correct a Chinese woman? AITA I went with my friend to a restaurant that was originally reserved for me and my wife. AITA for speaking English with my China relatives who refused to speak Mandarin? Susie also gets a note from teacher about her youngest daughter taking a math test and spiraling out of anxiety. Ed talks about his neon green rental car and accidentally deleting his dashcam footage when he hit by another driver.

Back from a short unannounced 2 week break with Season 2 of What in the Shibal! Starting with Susie's daughters coming back from a huge volleyball tournament in Las Vegas followed up by Spring Break with the family in Chicago. Ed gets his mouth numb eating Mala Tteokbokki. Ed gets hit by a car. And Ed tries and loves raw marinated crabs. Susie on the other hand runs into one of her best friends in Chicago and had a wild ride with a Korean ajumma for a driver who unloaded on Susie... and her family in the car about her good friend who passed away. AITA include: AITA for not telling my Uber passengers that I speak Chinese? AITA for tricking my roommate into eating mozzerella using a Korean hotdog because I suspected him of eating my food? AITA for not being interested in part of my ethnic background? AITA for "playing the race card" when it's not about my race? AITA for telling my British neighbors they should learn Chinese because we live in China? AITA for ditching my date at the restaurant? Susie reminisces about seeing a group of early 20something old men speaking and mocking fake Chinese accents in Chinatown while she is chaperoning a field trip.

Susie and Ed play a game to get to know each other better on Ep 54. But first, Archie loses a tooth on the podcast.  Susie reminisces about one of her daughters losing their tooth and Susie having to replace the tooth.  This episode was recorded a week in advance due to scheduling so Susie and Ed try to predict the future.  Susie and Ed play Life Stories and answer the following questions: What was your childhood home like? Who did you spend the most time with as a kid? What are some of your earliest memories? Were you given any special awards for your school activities? What rebellious things did you do as a teenager? Did you work as a teenager and what did you do? What is one of your craziest stories from your teenage years? How did you get your name? What was your style when you were in school? When was your first car accident?

On Ep 53, Ed took Archie to the park for the first time but never to a dog park... and accidentally traumatized Archie with a hoodie. While, Susie hasn't stopped making her Go-To-Jang sauce and has been shifting production to a co-packer.  Susie has a fan that offered to redesign her sauce labels... and should be available on Tik Tok Shop and online soon. Speaking of which, Tik Tok Shop, as annoying as it can be for some viewers, has been exponentially helpful gain traction for a lot of small businesses. Susie is more influenced than she is an influencer. Daylight Savings is annoying. Ed has an interaction with 10-12 year old kids and doesn't trust their genuinity. Susie's daughter's basketball team's opponent's coach is a bad sport and refuses to let the team shake hands at the end of the game.  Susie is careful to be supportive but not live vicariously through her daughters. Susie's niece may be moving to SoCal for school.
