On today’s episode, I’m chatting to founder of Her Sport, a media platform focused on bringing audiences the latest Irish and international women’s sports news. Involved in sports from as early as she could remember, this week’s guest has tried her hand at pretty much everything from ballet to soccer but it was swimming that captured her attention and made her fall in love with competition. Leaving the sport behind to focus on studies at age 17, it wasn’t until university that she rediscovered her passion for the pool in an attempt to widen her social circles and opened her eyes to something she had been fortunately shielded from for most of her life - inequality for women in sports. A topic that stayed with her after college, she decided to take her digital marketing skills and use them to create an online platform that celebrated women in sport and gave them a mouthpiece like never before. Two years on, Her Sport is making waves and growing by the day. Sharing how she did it, here’s what it’s like to be Niamh Tallon.
