The 2 Regular Guys podcast has evolved from Aaron Montgomery and Terry Combs hanging out in hotel bars and restaurants after trade shows, eating chicken wings, disagreeing over ranch or bleu cheese as the true and proper dipping sauce, and talking the garment decorating and personalization industry. A long list of industry friends joined into those conversations over the years, in cities across America and the world. These same friends plus new friends we meet along the way now come back to join us as guests to the program. The trade shows continue, the industry grows and matures, and the 2 Regular Guys continue those conversations, talking garment and product decorating (and on occasion beer and chicken wings) weekly. Welcome to our 8th Year. Come along for the ride!

Aaron: I was going to give archery a shot.

But there were too many drawbacks.

    10 Ways to Increase Sales

1 Aaron: The easiest customer to sell to is the customer you already have…

    * As businesses, we spend so much time trying to win new business.

    * The most profitable way to grow is through your existing customers.

    * Already ‘trained’, already on the same page with expectations, and already in your system.

    * 80/20 Rule - 80% of your income 20% of your customers

    * Tip #1 - Make the most important customers (Top 20%) your Priority

3 Aaron: Bundles or package deals.

    * Help them understand what they might not know they need

    * Doesn’t have to include discounting

4 Terry: Sample other products when a customer orders from you. Do you do hats? What’s a product you have available that would be a natural for this end customer? Put one in the box.

5 Aaron: Persistence, Reach out often

    * Find the balance. Don’t want to overwhelm them with pitches, but want to stay top of mind.

    * Requires research, personalization, and a CRM

    * Leave every interaction with an excuse for the next one.

6 Terry: Sample other decoration techniques when a customer orders.

    7 Aaron: Gather Feedback OFTEN

    * Your customer's needs and preferences will change,

o   According to the EPA, the main source of textiles in municipal solid waste (MSW) is discarded clothing, although other smaller sources include furniture, carpets, tires, footwear, and other nondurable goods such as sheets and towels.

o   92 million tons of textiles waste is produced every year. Earth.org shares that in America alone, an estimated 11.3 million tons of textile waste – equivalent to 85% of all textiles – end up in landfills on a yearly basis.

O The good: We’re starting to see so many companies make progress: Marine Layer, Everywhere Apparel, Living Ink (making ink out of algae), Allmade, S&S’s Giveback Box program, etc.
