William Marrion Branham (A.K.A. William Marvin Branham, 1907-1965) was a Pentecostal minister from Jeffersonville, Indiana credited by some as initiating the Post WWII Healing Revival. He is widely recognized for playing a leading role in the formation of the Latter Rain, Word of Faith, Manifest Sons of God, and New Apostolic Reformation movements. Some have gone so far as to label Branham as "God's General", fully unaware of the critical information concerning Branham's ministry and the multiple conflicting stage personas Branham used for self-promotion as a self-proclaimed prophet. This podcast walks listeners through time, examining the histories of not only William Branham but also the men who worked with Branham, created his stage personas, and promoted his ministry. Untangling the lies from IHOPKC
This podcast has been a surprisingly helpful tool for me in untangling so much of my charismatic childhood and the damage that I experienced in the IHOP KC cult with Mike Bickel, whose mentor was Paul Cain. I left in 2010 (and for the most part left the faith) but in light of recent allegations of sexual abuse against Mike Bickle, have found myself revisiting all the old wounds and traumas. I really appreciate the knowledge these men share and how I can see all these teachings making their way into Mikes life and the horrific fruit it brought about in so many lives, just from the theology alone. These episodes are giving knowledge to things my intuition has been telling me for over a decade. Thank you for the work you are doing.
Invaluable Research
I keep referring folks to this podcast. It’s crucial in understanding how we arrived at Charismatic/Pentecostal/Dominionist/Nationalism. Everyone who spent any time in NAR IHOPKC, Bethel, HIM (Ché Ahn), the Prophetic Movement should work their way through this pod.
10/10
This pod is the template for what all history podcasts should be: exhaustively researched and informed by personal experience without wild speculation or vulgar humor. WBHRP offers a unique insight into the many movements and events that have grown out of Latter Rain and its predecessors. A must for parapolitics heads seeking a better understanding of Jonestown, Colonia Dignidad, and though it’s not discussed here, PATCON and the OKC bombing.
