Our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, is coming to a close. In this last week, we will look at forgiveness and how vital it is in the body of Christ. As we walk through this world, we will face pain. That pain may be physical or emotional, and it may be caused by a brother or sister in Christ. When they hurt us, it can be difficult to come to a point of forgiveness; only being able to after conviction and stirring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus gives us several examples of forgiving those who hurt us in scripture, many times, Himself being the one turning the other cheek. We should forgive because we have been forgiven much and because it is the way of the kingdom. Tune in to our last sermon of the series, The Absurdity of the Unforgiving Christian, where we will see the importance of forgiving those who hurt us.

We are continuing in our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, looking at the body of Christ and how to handle when conflicts arise. When we claim Christ, it is important that we stay vigilant of our words and actions. Our impact on others is vital, we should have a motive of not hindering others, but rather being a help. We should also look to be vigilant of our own sin and its impact on our life, removing it from our lives. Today we continue in our series, Thy Kingdom Come, looking at the Gospel of Mark. We will be reminded of the great comfort that Jesus reigns over creation. There are times when we face all-consuming anxiety, when doubts and what-ifs fill our head. In these times, we can lose sight of God and forget that He is near. He remains calm and at peace in these times, He speaks with authority, and He calls us to step out and live in fearless faith. We are beginning our new series, Thy Kingdom Come: His Reign in Our Lives, today we will see how Jesus’ reign brings heaven to earth. Arrivals are exciting. We wait with great expectation for what we are anticipating, rather the arrival of a loved one or the visit of an influential person. This week we are starting in Mark chapter 3, where we will learn about the distinguishing marks that the disciples had. In the excitement of Jesus arrival, He calls out His twelve disciples. The twelve were called out from the crowd, they spent a lot of time with Jesus, and they were given authority. Today, we continue in our series, Elijah, reminding us how the same God Elijah served can use us to live a life of impact for His Kingdom. When we face times of self-pity or defeat, we can look to God to give us strength. Even Elijah, who was a man of great faith faced times of hopelessness. In times when we find ourselves full of sorrow, we can be encouraged that the same God that worked through Elijah, can conquer our self-pity. He calls us to his truth, to his spirit, and to live a life of servitude. Listen to our newest message of the series, Conquering Self-Pity, and be reminded of the courage God gives us.

In our series, Asking for a Friend series, we’ll answer tough questions and provide you with gospel-centered answers that you can share with a friend. We all have questions, but sometimes, navigating the answers to cultural issues through the lens of the Gospel can be challenging. Death is a topic difficult to navigate because we don’t know from personal experience. It requires full trust in what God tells us through His scripture. And when it comes to a life ending early, more questions arise and more concerns flood into our minds.
