We don’t just "stick to sports" because we don’t have the privilege of doing so.
This podcast is about wrecking the toy department – the name derisively foisted on sports – where it’s supposedly all fun and games. It’s not and never has been.
There’s no shut up and dribble here. We want to hear what athletes, and people from all walks of sports – have to say, because they’re public figures with a platform. What they say and do, or don’t say and do, matters whether we agree with them or not. And it matters a lot.

Djoker's Wild
Rules? Where we're going there are no rules. For world number one men's tennis player Novak Djokovic, it has been as startling a descent over the past three years as it was an ascent for the previous decade-plus. How did such a great sportsman, once a poor kid who grew up in a a war-torn nation hitting tennis balls or shrapnel blasted tennis courts become a caricature of the worst kind of self-obsessed, sanctimonious, hypocritical, rules don't apply to me, sports celebrity?
We'll take a look at his high-speed plummet from athlete to admire to the unfortunate non-role model he's become, and examine how his Big Four contemporaries stack up by comparison. For Novak Djokovic, it's a bad look all around even if he may well currently be the best men's tennis player ever.

When Charles Barkley made a Nike ad saying athletes shouldn't be role models, he took heat from all sides. But maybe he had a point. Not all athletes are or should be role models, and when we're looking for stars to emulate, we should always be operating with an attitude of buyer beware.

Jake is on another level
Jake Williams is the breath of fresh salty air that podcast board fans need. Williams dives deep and does his homework better than anyone I’ve ever heard in sport journalism, quoting countless others, opinions and synthesizing them through his own salty, creative agenda. Williams is both entertaining and immensely intellectually enriching one things for sure I don’t ever want to be in the crosshairs of Jake Williams, this is legitimately the best podcast. I’ve heard in a long, long time Williams makes Hub Arkish look like Mickey Mouse.
There is no just ‘stick to sports’
This podcast gives a well-rounded perspective on some of the most relevant social issues percolating around the world of sports. Jake expertly links present day social issues in the sports world to a broader historical context, demonstrating their relevance and importance in the public discourse. Worth a listen!
Transcending boundaries
Jake Williams brings clarity to the issues that bridge sports, culture, and politics for us to better understand our roles as fans and citizens. The series continues to raise the game and despite being a newer podcast, is among my favorite shows. Give a listen!
