Interviewing Ron Phelan on Bowen Technique for the BTPA

Interviewing Ron Phelan on Bowen Technique for the BTPA

In the third of my new interviews, I speak to Ron Phelan, another of the really big names in the Bowen Technique world.

In this interview, we discuss how Ron found his way from electrical engineering to Bowen Technique and the similarities between them, how he went on to develop his PASC - Practitioner Assessment Skills Courses and his approach to hormonal work through Bowen Technique that was pioneered by Trevor Rose.

Ron talks about what he finds important in assessment and treatment in Bowen, demonstrating how much a multi-disciplinary approach can add to the core work of Bowen, especially the application of kinesiology for assessment, and his interest in using radionics in his work.

He also shares with us his thoughts for where the practice of Bowen is going in the coming years and what he wants to continue with.

You can learn more about Ron's work via https://pascseminars.com/  https://pascseminars.com/course-schedule/

His hormonal work has more details here https://hormonalreleasethebowenway.com/

There is the opportunity to join David Howells in the UK for the "Hormone Release the Bowen Way" seminars in July and October 2024 in Leamington Spa and details of these can be found here https://hormonalreleasethebowenway.com/classes.htm

More details of Bowen practitioners in the UK can be found on our website https://www.bowentherapy.org.uk/

Thanks to Ron for his time and experience in creating this interview

Interviewing Graham Pennington on the Importance of Symmetry for the BTPA

In the second of our fascinating new interviews with some of the key figures in Bowen Technique today, I'm really excited to share this interview with Graham Pennington to talk about his wonderful Importance of Symmetry work.

You'll see my brief fan-boy moment at the start of the interview as Graham's work has made a wonderful contribution to how I approach working with Bowen Technique with my clients.

We explore Graham's history and how he came to develop this highly beneficial assessment process, as well as talk about what he sees as important directions for bodywork to take and what we are not spending enough time looking at in this field.

You can learn more about Graham via his website http://www.bowenseminars.com.au/ His book "A Textbook of Bowen Technique" is available in the UK via authorised teacher Robert Smith, whose contact details can be found here https://www.bowenseminars.com.au/contact/

Interviewing Michael Nixon Livy NST for the BTPA

Interviewing Michael Nixon Livy NST for the BTPA

I'm really excited to share the first of a series of interviews I'm doing for the the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) to talk with some of the major researchers and developers of Bowen Technique to support both students and practitioners of Bowen Technique and for the public to have a better understanding of Bowen Technique and associated developments in body work.

In this first interview, I talk with Michael Nixon-Livy, who has developed NST (Neurostructural Integration Technique) and the significant and important Osteospinal seminars that underpin his work. It was fascinating to hear about Michael's history and how his practice developed and was influenced by various fields in his early development.

We talk about some of the differences between classical Bowen and NST and where Michael feels the field of body work is going and what we should be looking towards over the next 10 years. We also chatted a little about his upcoming visit to the UK and Europe to teach his Osteospinal seminars this spring and summer.

To learn more about Michael, please see the NST website https://nsthealth.com/

Waking the 5 Element Spirits an Interview with Sai Calder

I'm really grateful to have an opportunity to talk with my brother Sai Calder, the founder of LifeForce Qigong, about his Qigong practice and how it's evolved over the years. We talk about how he has developed LifeForce Qigong and why he felt this was a requirement for his health and well-being, his journey in self-development. We also talk about his 2024 visit to the UK and the residential retreat he'll be holding in Trigonos in Snowdonia, North Wales, entitled "Waking the 5 Element Spirits - A Light of the Inner You"

Embarking on an expansive journey through the realms of Qigong and personal growth, my brother, Sai Calder, and I delve into the intricate fabric of Life Force Qigong, a practice deeply entwined with the essence of vitality and consciousness. Sai is set to lead an immersive retreat titled “Waking the 5 Elements Spirits: A Light of the Inner You” from September 2nd to 6th, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Snowdonia in the UK, at Trigonos. This venue promises an enriching experience with its stunning views, organic culinary offerings, and opportunities for lake swimming amidst the natural beauty. Sai’s journey with Qigong has been a lifelong expedition, beginning in his youth, influenced by various teachers and practices including yoga and meditation. This path has taken him across the globe, from the UK and Europe to India, Thailand, and eventually Bali, attracting many to the profound energetic practices he’s mastered. Sai describes Qigong as a life passion that offers holistic benefits, encompassing health, spiritual connection, and personal evolution. This commitment to Qigong, Sai notes, is akin to investing in a lifelong venture that continually enriches his life.
