Incredible writing and delivery
I rarely write reviews. Media rarely touches me deeply. But this morning I listened to episode 3 and I still tear up every time I think about it.
The author gives interesting factual information about seemingly mundane topics, interspersed with deeply personal and emotional stories and dry humor.
I've only listened to about 5 episodes, but I needed to emotionally regroup after (sometimes during) 4 of those listens. Thank you for walking me through those stories, John.
I give The Anthropocene Reviewed... 5 stars.
John Green takes a facet of our human existence that you thought you knew, and opens up a window revealing a whole new view. A mundane topic like Sycamore Trees becomes an examination on the meaning of life. Pennies turn out to be an enemy of the state, or perhaps a saving grace we can all agree on. However, John isn’t just opening a Wikipedia browser window, these are the personal windows of his own abode, filled with stories you won’t find anywhere else.
I give this podcast, 5 stars.
John, through his sincere story telling and incredible knack for making his personal experiences ones that you can relate to and learn from, has created a podcast that not only teaches you about all of the inherently complex and sometimes dubious things that make us who we are but also all of the incredibly inspiring things we are capable of being. I give this podcast, 5 stars.
My favourite fact that didn’t make it into this review: John is even able to make advertising interesting.
