The NayFul Podcast Episode 33 - In Conversation With Bhut Legend
BHUT'LEGEND real name Simphiwe Bonga Tafane is a rapper from Umtata in
the Eastern cape. He's known for his realistic lyrics and going hard on
every beat. Legend made a great name for himself and is winning
more hearts with his music every time he drops. He's also known for
being one the rappers who has
made rapping in Xhosa cooler hence his recent album is titled "Isixhosa
never been cooler"
More than anything the album highlights the growth and bold statement
Isixhosa is making in the Industry. The album is composed of 19 songs
which tell a story of his entire life till where he is now. Songs like
'Hosh Nonke' featuring the 'iDyan ayCatchi' Hitmaker Soul T iDyan
highlights how they’ve been in the game for a long time and the seeds
they planted on their journey are now bearing fruits. Legend further
emphasises on how he also aims to help those who are walking the same
journey he is because he now has a plan. In the song, he also lets us in
on how he's always loved music while growing up even at times when
people thought he was a fool for it. More than anything, the song leaves
inspiration to those who are following in his footsteps.
There's a lot more that this very special album highlights, like the
pride he portrays for being 'Umxhosa', a descendant from the Zangwa
clan. Though he may not notice it, but Bhut Legend has also made being
proud of your roots cooler. On his song ‘Kulendawo’, he talks about how
perseverance, prayer and endurance has got him where he is.
