Haleh is the founder and CEO of Picturli, a photo organization, curation, archiving and design studio, that helps families, individuals and businesses transform their photo chaos into one sortable Digital Library. She created her company to help individuals, families and companies preserve their memories and tell their stories. Her passion for photo organizing stems from her family's history of being uprooted by the Iranian revolution in 1979. Among the few belongings they were able to bring to the US were their photo albums and memorabilia. Now, the only memories that remain from her childhood are through her family photos and the stories shared with her through the collection, that she preserved. As a certified professional photo organizer in Los Angeles, Haleh is backed by her 27 years of technical expertise as an executive creative producer in advertising for luxury brands such as Ritz Carlton, Apple, and Jaguar Land Rover. Her past experience includes leading the global advertising launch campaign of the iPad Mini, with a team of 56 people. Picturli was born from her love of people, her keen eye for photography, and her unquenchable desire for storytelling. In today's episode, I talk to Skye Bergman about her book, “Lives Well Lived - Generations”, in which she celebrates the stories of 40 older adults with a collective life experience of 3000 years. Their stories were first featured in her PBS documentary Lives Well Lived.  Skye Bergman is a professor emerita of photography and video at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her artwork is in prestigious museum collections, and her commercial work has appeared in renowned magazines such as The Smithsonian. Following her 30 year teaching career, Sky's passion is creating films and projects that inspire intergenerational connections through emphasizing the power of shared stories. Following airing of her documentary, she curated her book to share the wisdom from the film. We explore foundational areas in which evolutionary mismatch between humans and modern society may lead to various diseases and pathologies. In Part 1 we focussed on the importance of accommodating our sleep and nutrition lifestyles in the context of contemporary life, while respecting our ancestral blue print. In this episode, Part 2, we explore the ancient balance between work and rest in the hunter-gatherer lifestyle, realizing that it is challenging to balance productivity and well-being in the modern workplace with the need to reconnect with nature for personal well-being. We acknowledged the evolving science on climate change and the need to balance technological advancements with preserving the natural environment. Jenny Powers is a mom, a writer, a scientist and an athlete from Colorado. Jenny's PhD is in immunology, but she left academia to be a mom and to pursue a writing career. Up to that point, she had only written scientific journal articles and fiction for middle grade children. The opportunity to research and write on the origin of being with Luke Comer, allowed her scientific training and passion for writing to come together harmoniously.
