The True and Better Word
While wandering in the wilderness, the Israelites grumbled against God’s provision for them, and instead of entering the land that God had promised them, they drew back in fear, not trusting that God would keep his promise. It’s a lesson for us today in our seasons of trials: Do we trust God or do we also shrink back, harden our hearts, and slip into disobedience?
Tune in as Redeemer elder candidate Chris Lejeune preaches “The True and Better Word” from Hebrews 3:7—4:13. In this passage we’ll see why community is important in fighting discontent and why we can trust this God who gives us ultimate rest in Jesus.
The True and Better Man
Tune in as Pastor Morgan Renew preaches the second sermon in our Hebrews series, “The True and Better Man.” Drawing from Hebrews 2:5—3:6, he shows us how by becoming a man, Jesus relates to us in our sufferings and how his life lived as a man leads to the restoration of mankind through the reconciliation that is found at the cross for all who call upon his name.
The True and Better Salvation
This week Pastor Morgan Renew launches our new series on Hebrews and preaches “The True and Better Salvation” from Hebrews 1:1—2:4.
After looking at the distinguishing marks of a Christian last week, this week we’ll conclude our series on 1 Thessalonians by considering the characteristics of those who belong to the local church.
We’ll see the ways that we are called to care for one another and to point each other to Christ. Listen as Pastor Binoi Samuel preaches “Walk Together” from 1 Thessalonians 5.
Walk in Hope
What are some of the distinguishing marks of a Christian so that we may examine ourselves to determine if we truly know and follow Christ?
In Friday’s sermon, elder Binoi Samuel continues in our series on 1 Thessalonians by preaching “Walk in Hope” from 1 Thessalonians 4:3–18. This passage not only helps us to discern where we stand, but also reminds us of what we have to look forward to — of being like Christ and being with Christ for eternity. Listen and be encouraged to walk in a manner that accords with him who has given all good things.
This week Redeemer elder Binoi Samuel preaches “Genuine Love” from 1 Thessalonians 2:17–3:13. In this passage, we see so much of Paul’s genuine love for the Thessalonians, whom he had left behind.
Pastor Binoi points to Paul’s love in this passage as being a love that longs to be with these people, a love that acts and does things — serving and giving, even despite difficulty — and a love that is centered on God, dependent on him. What a thought to love like this!
