    The Evolving Legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

    Our podcast today has as it's special guests prominent Attorney Delano S. Stewart, an outspoken. Civil Rights Leader in the State of Florida for over 50 years, and Pastor Michael Neely, Senior Pastor/Founder of the New Millennium Community Church.  Our focus today is the evolving legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.   Some of the questions that we will seek to answer is how has our country benefitted from Dr. King's example and leadership?  Has the African American Communites adapted the principles of Dr. King and are those principles relevant for this generation.  Additionally, we will contrast and compare how Dr Kings principles provides tools to effectively battle the racist tendencies of our current President of The United States, Donald J. Trump. Most importantly, how do we maintain Dr Kings principles of brotherhood and love in today's Trump Hysteria

    Lowell author of new collection of short stories “Secrets.”

    Author Emma Palova joins ACVN to discuss her second collection of short stories “Secrets.”  This is Book 2 of the Shifting Sands Short Stories series.  “Secrets” is a collection of 15 short stories; two of them are historical fiction.  Many of the author’s stories are based on her journalistic experiences . Some of the real-life stories we could never publish because we had no corroboration from the witnesses. Today, the newscasts say whatever without any attribution. We have no way of verifying the truth behind the news. That wasn’t always the case. Plus, if you live in a small town, you have to live by hometown rules. We all know each other. We keep our houses and cars unlocked. We know who lives where, and who slept with whom. We know it, but we don’t write about it. These are all workable ideas for me: things unsaid, stories untold and people hurting. I like to combine fiction with realism. It’s called magic realism spiked with surrealism.

    Restoration Of Ex-Convicts Voting Rights: Amendment 4

    On Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, The America’s Community Voices Network will have as it’s special guest Hillsborough County  Supervisor Of Elections Craig Latimer and Robert P.     Join us on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. for the next edition of our podcast, America's Community Voices Network, onBLOGTALKRADIO.COM, with our special guest the newly elected representative for the Florida State House of Representatives, District 61, Mr. Edwin Narain. Since his election to office during the last election cycle, the freshmen democrat has made his debut in the Florida State House with great distinction. He was the first freshman ever elected to lead theminority caucus (unprecedented) and he was the chief sponsor of a bill that was passed into law to provide critical training to police officers to recognize the symptoms of a diabetic episode. Known as "The Arthur Green Act," this critical bill was sponsored my Rep. Narain after Mr. Green's untimely during a traffic stop in which he was suffering a hypoglycemic episode. The police officers, through no fault of their own, did not recognize the symptoms and attempted to arrest Mr. Green for erratic and DUI driving. Mr. Green collapsed and died in what was at the least a highly preventable death.     Pastor Moses Brown: Feed Our Children Ministries

    Join us on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in morning for a conversation with the Founder of "The Feed Our Children Ministries, Pastor Moses Brown. Feed Our Children Ministries is committed to being a source of support to economically disadvantaged children and their families, the homeless, and the elderly.  The vision of FOC Ministries is to equip each individual we contact with the tools necessary in realizing their unlimited potentials. To leave no one hungry physically or spiritually and to enable each one we serve with the ability to serve someone else in need. With an immediate goal to restore the families of each individual served, the long term goals of FOC Ministries are a return back to the community of individuals and families served to provide assistance to other families in need.  To acquire a homeless shelter and be able to service more families with our products and services and to provide food shelter for orphans in third world countries as well as other services. The food is given to the people at no cost to them. Further, the purpose of the food program is to feed the poor, not to grow our church.  The food provided generally consists of fresh produce, cereals, breads, packaged goods, juices, canned goods, snacks, chips, candies, etc. The food boxes (usually a combination of boxes and bags) normally contain between 30-50 pounds of these food items.
