HyePod: Armenian Story Time with Linda

Each episode of HyePod features a moral short story that ranges from retelling of classic international fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood to Armenian tales written by prominent Armenian writers like Hovhannes Tumanian. These stories are told in Armenian in a manner that is engaging and easy to understand. The goal of this podcast is to make the Armenian language more accessible to children across the world and use the power of storytelling to help preserve the Armenian language and values through our future generations.     Չարին Վերջը (The End of Evil)

    Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  There was once a mother bird that nested on a tree on a mountaintop, she looked over her baby birds and sang to them. One day, the Fox comes by and tells the mother bird that the mountain, the tree and the nest belong to him. Further, the Fox threatens to cut the tree branch if she does not give him one of her baby birds.  Will the mother bird give one of her babies away?

    An international fairytale narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.   Cinderella is a beautiful young girl who lived happily with her father and mother. However, her happiness was cut short by her mother's illness and later her passing.  Seeing how sad and lonely Cinderella was, her father decided to remarry.  As a result, Cinderella now had a step mother and two step sisters, will this bring her the joy she once felt before her mother passed?

    Մրջիւնն ու Լուն (The Ant and the Flea)

    Written by Ghazaros Aghaian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian. A group of animals lived and worked harmoniously together in a small town. One day after finishing the days work, the ant and the flea go on a stroll and see a creek. The flea boastfully tells the ant that it can fly from one side of the creek to the other and asks the ant if it can do the same. Without any hesitation the ant says yes. Can the ant really jump across the creek?

    Քոյր ու Եղբայր (The Sister & Brother)

    Narrated by Linda Kandilian & sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  Alice and Sarkis are siblings and venture out into the forest for a stroll. Not long after, they quickly realize that they may have gone too far and start to worry. Not able to find their way back, they spend the night in the forest. In the morning, Sarkis is thirsty and drinks from a body of water in the forest which turns him into a deer. Will the effect of the water ware off or will Sarkis forever remain a deer?

There was once a hard working bee who spent the day flying around collecting nectar from a field of flowers and taking it back to the hive to make honey. After many hours of doing this, the bee gets thirsty and at the sight of a lake decides to drink the lake water. Whilst trying to drink the water, the bee falls into the water and cannot get out. Will anyone see the bee and come to rescue?

He thought that no one can surprise him. One day a man comes in with a bag on his shoulder and tells the king that he owes him a bag of gold. What will the king say? Will this be the lie that wins the man half of the king's kingdom.
