    Preston Lewis is the cofounder and Chief Creative Officer of Black Box VR—a virtual reality fitness experience. Black Box VR’s innovative technology represents the world’s first fitness virtual reality space that uses real weight. They have invented a dynamic resistance machine that pairs with virtual reality game experiences. When the player is in the virtual reality world—wearing the VR headset—they can use their body like a controller with the game responding dynamically to their every move.     IDS:100 Emilee Fortin – Boise Angels

    Boise Angels is a Treasure Valley non-profit focusing on supporting foster families in skill and relationship building. In Idaho, numbers vary, but there are currently over 1,700 children in foster care. The need for foster homes remains high and they continue to turn over quickly, with over 60% of first time families calling it quits after their first year. It’s difficult for families to deal with the emotional needs of children while getting their only help from already thin state resources. The average foster kid is forced to move 7 times in 2 years—a statistic Boise Angels wants to change. Emilee Fortin is the Vice President of Boise Angels and has made it her mission to eventually connect every foster family in the Treasure Valley with the support they need by way of a love box.     Nicole Foy is a reporter with the Idaho Press Tribune who focuses on Canyon County and Hispanic affairs. She has spent the last few years ‘building a beat’ in the Hispanic community and does her best to report on stories that are representative of a range of experiences. Part of Nicole’s work has been focused on building relationships within the Idaho Hispanic community and says that giving a voice to a historically under-represented group of people has been an eye opening experience. From immigration to college admissions, Nicole’s reporting touches the lives of thousands and brings life to a part of Idaho that has been largely left behind.     IDS: 095 Sean Evans – Junior Achievement of Idaho

    Sean Evans is the current President of Junior Achievement of Idaho, an organization committed to preparing and inspiring young people to compete in the global economy. The organization provides program based education starting in kindergarten and running all the way through high school. The program is run by volunteers who use JA kits to deploy education in the classroom. Sean says their mission is to empower young people in achieving their own economic success. Ultimately, JA gives students the tools they need that aren’t being provided in the classroom. While JA is technically a national organization run at the state level, they are also moving into global markets and subsidizing the financial education of young people around the world. JA Idaho technically covers an area defined as Riggins South. The chapter delivers 415 classes all across the state, serving 10,00 students with around 80% in the Treasure Valley due to the more dense concentration of population and businesses. JA Idaho serves students in the Magic Valley, East Idaho and beyond. Last year, the program relied on over 350 volunteers to deliver JA classes.     IDS: 094 Shannon Decker – The Speedy Foundation/Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Advocacy

    Shannon Decker is the Executive Director of the Speedy Foundation and the Idaho Suicide Prevention Coalition. The Speedy Foundation was started in 2011 in memory of Shannon’s cousin, Olympic Freestyle skier and three time Olympian, Jeret Peterson. His death compelled Shannon and her family to help others affected by suicide.The family felt that the Speedy Foundation could help that cause by providing help with funding as well as using Jeret’s legacy to gain traction. The Speedy Foundation believes that education for the general public is a tremendously important piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked.
