On Like a Fish Needs a Starship, hosts Steph and Kat are bad-ass feminist sci-fi nerds, and aren't afraid to admit it. Join us as we talk about sci-fi television, movies, literature, and other things that tickle our inner nerd (and some things that don't). Because It's Always About Gender, we have no shame in viewing it all through a feminist lens, but have no fear - there are lots of laughs along the way. Of course, we also enjoy chatting about fashion, makeup, and playing a good game of FMK...but hey, no one's perfect, right?

    Epstein Didn't Kill Himself, He Just Goes By Captain Crandall Now

    We tried, you guys. We tried to live the hygge life with Riker and Troi and their fucking outdoor pizza oven and their ten thousand candles. But then this episode took a dark, dark turn. Somewhere between the discussion about the science of silicon-based life forms and the 1974 French film Le fantôme de la liberté (they're oddly related, we swear), we discovered that this episode is actually about a bunch of grown-ups failing to recognize when a little girl is being groomed for exploitation by a creepy older man. Also: BUNNICORNS!

It ain't the full-throated exploration of shady Federation politics we've been craving, but it'll do just fine.
