Red flag laws allow law enforcement—per a judge’s order—to confiscate firearms from anyone they believe is at risk of committing a crime. State Rep. Briscoe Cain, who authored the measure, issued a statement saying, the bill “is about standing up for the constitutional rights of Texans, ensuring that citizens are not stripped of their rights without due process. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., on Friday called on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to close state “loopholes” which allegedly enabled Luigi Mangione to use a “ghost gun” in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. “The probable use of a 3D-printed ghost gun by Luigi Mangione to assassinate Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare, underscores the need for a complete and comprehensive prohibition of ghost guns in New York,” Rep. Torres wrote in a letter to the governor. “The explosion of ghost guns onto the streets of New York and into the hands of dangerous people has led to an unprecedented crisis in public safety ... I am respectfully calling upon you as Governor to include in your executive budget proposal legislation that closes the manufacturing loophole in ghost gun laws and closes the ghost gun loophole in gun manufacturing laws. How Two SEALs Tragically Drowned During an Anti-Terror Operation

The two SEALs were identified as Nathan Gage Ingram, 27, who was posthumously promoted to Special Warfare Operator 1st Class, and Christopher Chambers, who was posthumously promoted to the rank of Chief Special Warfare Operator. "The root cause of these drownings was a lack of a fail-safe and layered defense to provide buoyance ... whether to overcome the weight of equipment, fatigue from extreme physical exertion and resultant inability to tread water, or an injury suffered during the boarding process," the Navy concluded.
