    First off, Baby D is out due to a family emergency. Please send nothing but love and prayers her way. But, let’s get into it. Fires are still burning through Southern California, and the city of Los Angeles wants to make sure their firefighters are appreciated by treating them to the soothing vocals of John Legend (2:23). To make matters worse, these men are incarcerated. They could’ve at least been treated to Sexxy Red (13:17). Speaking of which, Sexxy Red and Bruno Mars are dropping a new strip club anthem today (22:50). Once Demaris gets back, Rory has a few takes about Bruno he wants to debate her on. Then, we touch on the news that A$AP Rocky will not take a plea deal and will go to trial for gun charges (43:11). If he gets put behind bars, the whole C-Block better be using Rihanna’s “Fenty” line. We then get interrupted with breaking news about Kendrick Lamar’s announcement that SZA will be joining him for the Super Bowl Halftime Show (I promise this segment went fine) (57:10). Nelly & Soulja Boy are under fire for their performances at inauguration weekend, but we don’t think they should be cancelled for it (51:50). Liangelo Ball is under fire for his first performance, and it forces the team to give Mal his flowers (1:48:27). Chris Blake Griffith (not the guy that won the dunk contest, I know - we almost made that mistake too) is insisting his texts to Drake are real, amidst claims that they are fake and he’s clout chasing (37:01).     We’re back, fresh off of public transportation because who the f&!# is paying NYC congestion pricing?! In this economy?! After Rory gives us a brief recap of going out to twirl his cane for his frat’s founders day, we get into the controversy that’s been running the internet all weekend - Joy Taylor, Skip Bayless, and the lawsuit against FS1 (14:14). Some things we believe, some we don’t, and some we can’t seem to agree on. Liangelo Ball has a viral song on his hands, so if you’ve heard our Patreon episode from yesterday, it seems Rory ACTUALLY deserves some flowers this time (48:45). Speaking of viral songs, Drake is back in the headlines and back in (some of) our hearts after a planned leak of a song he had seemingly dissing Drake has surfaced online (55:40). The team gives their honest opinions, does a slight lyric breakdown, and has some theories on who else might have caught a stray. Unlike Drake, Kanye isn’t standing on business in his beef with Kai Cenat, which seems to have been solved with a post alluding to a rollout for a new project (1:22:50). Mal is standing on his assumption that it will be AI, and the team is split on whether AI will ruin music and whether Kanye will be the artist to spearhead that. Lil Baby’s album isn’t exactly garnering rave reviews - and the NRM cast is not here to disagree (1:38:00).     Episode 333 | It Is What It Is

    First episode of the two-five! Mal starts off with hate so as you can see, nothing has changed. Speaking of hate, we accidentally pulled a Katt Williams and popped the year off with beef and controversy, with Elliott Wilson getting Cam and Mase to respond to his hate rant on our last episode (9:05). Mal and Rory stand 10 toes down on media personalities being just as qualified as journalists. We run through our NYE night (27:09), and then get into Joey Bada$$ and his claim as the heir to the King of NY throne, before setting up qualifications for what that role entails (31:39). On the note of kings, Lebron James celebrated his 40th going off to a Kendrick b-side, leading us to ponder which emotional b-side would we get into to make sure the party dies (56:05). We have prayers for the victims of the incidents that happened over the past few days (1:17:28), a voicemail from a potential step mother that sets Rory’s teeth on edge (1:21:42), and a belief that Demaris will end up a widow with a felon using her basement as his home (1:34:19).
