Suzanne Feinberg-"Electronic Wills Exposed: How to Safeguard Your Legacy from Digital Nightmares!"

Suzanne Feinberg-"Electronic Wills Exposed: How to Safeguard Your Legacy from Digital Nightmares!"

On this episode of Estate Planning Nightmares…..and how to avoid them!, I’m joined by Suzanne Feinberg of AZ Roving Notary.  In most of our past episodes which focused on not planning and nightmares, today we are going to discuss electronic wills and ensuring they are executed correctly!

Suzanne co-founded AZ Roving Notary (the AZ is for Arizona) in 2019 after a 15-year career teaching professional photographers how to create and market digital products,
photo tours and workshops using internet marketing.

As an early adaptor and pioneer of remote online notarization, Suzanne was in the first 100 notaries in April of 2020 to be commissioned as both a remote online notary and electronic notary when then Arizona Governor Doug Ducey put an executive order in place for emergency online notary services.

Over the last 4 years, Suzanne has established working relationships with online platform vendors – Secured Signings, Pactima and Signix.

Further, she has helped these online platform vendors develop improvements in functionality and user experience.  Her relationship and status with these vendors have led to platform training and consulting for many of their clients including law firm staff and independent notaries.

AZ Roving Notary specializes in the execution of Estate Planning documents both as traditional notaries as well as remote online notarization.

Suzanne has taken the necessary steps according to the laws and regulations of the state of Arizona to become a Qualified Custodian for Arizona Electronic Wills. AZ Roving Notary has set up an independent custodial account
system that meets all state requirements for storing electronic wills.

The one thing that clients notice most about Suzanne is her dedication to creating a successful online signing session regardless of the signer’s technical abilities. Because she has discovered the secret to a successful signing session, she created an online course for notaries at an affordable price so that other notaries could run successful online sessions as well.

Her has a strong commitment to her professional and personal communities. As a national speaker, her most recent engagement was leading a workshop at the National Notary Association 2023 Conference.

Outside of participating in speaking, podcasts and guest blogs, she served on the board of the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers, for several terms.

As a professional photographer, Suzanne volunteered with Flashes of Hope– a non-profit group that takes portraits of families with children in the final stages of cancer.

Additionally, she served 2 terms as an appointed commissioner, by the City of Scottsdale, on the Library Board. She is a graduate of Scottsdale Leadership and participates regularly with alumni activities. Suzanne
successfully completed Scottsdale’s Citizen Police Academy.

In her homeowner’s association, she served on the board of directors and on various committees, helping her community to improve their financial and environmental strengths.

And, on a personal note, Suzanne loves to photograph at the national parks; as well as train her Bernedoodle Maggie with the necessary skills to be a service dog.

King & King-"Serving With The Enemy!"

King & King-"Serving With The Enemy!"

On this episode of Estate Planning Nightmares…..and how to avoid them! I am joined by attorneys Dusty & Jennifer King. We discuss why it’s a BAD idea to have co personal
representative listed in your will or estate plan!

Dusty and Jennifer King founded King & King, in TN back in 2005. They both spent many years litigating contentious family law cases and other civil cases.

After having traveled to the beach and the Gulf Coast region for many years, they decided to make the move to Alabama in 2021. In conjunction with this move, the Kings decided to put down their swords and change the focus of their practice to estate planning and business law.

Their office is in Foley, but they serve clients across Baldwin and Mobile County, Alabama, while still maintaining their office in Tennessee.

The Kings are very active in their community.  Dusty
is a diplomat with the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and serves on the EPIC program committee which is a student entrepreneurship program. Jennifer is a member and on a committee for Impact 100 which awards five non-profits in Baldwin County with funds, for those that are selected, to use for their causes.

And they are well recognized for their work!

They are honored to have won the categories of “Best Law Firm” in 2024 and “Best Civil Attorney” for 2023 and 2024 for the Best of Baldwin awards.

When they are not lawyering, they enjoy kayaking and spending time with the four-legged members of their family.

Marjorie Desmond, ESQ.-“Disinherited No More-The Unforeseen Perils of Not Updating the Estate Plan”

Marjorie Desmond, ESQ.-“Disinherited No More-The Unforeseen Perils of Not Updating the Estate Plan”

On this episode of Estate Planning Nightmares…..and how to avoid them! I am joined by attorney Marjorie Desmond. Marjorie and I discuss the importance of updating your estate plan, ensuring it is funded properly and why it is critical to have your plan reviewed if you move to a new state!!!

Imagine leaving a large sum of money to someone, you thought had been disinherited!!!

Marjorie is a Personal Family Lawyer. She has a passion for families and making sure that your wishes are carried out if something happens to you.

She chose to practice in a way that provides thoughtful, continuing estate planning care – providing a customized plan that continues to work for you even as life changes.

In her practice, she focuses on family protection, value-based planning and planning for blended families.

Whether you are married or single, a traditional family or a blended one, starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, she will help you to craft a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come.

She attended Stanford University for my undergraduate education (1989), and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles (1992). And was a Note and Comment Editor on Law Review and published her own article.

After graduation, she practiced maritime law with a maritime law firm in Long Beach, CA and then moved to the large law firm of Graham & James, LLP in Los Angeles, handling maritime litigation and complex commercial litigation.

She segued into public service in 1998, taking a position with U.S. Customs as in house counsel for U.S. Customs and Border Protection before moving to Arizona.

Marjorie was admitted to practice law in California in 1992 and Arizona in 2010 after her move to Scottsdale. She practiced commercial litigation in Scottsdale for several years before changing her focus to help people proactively plan to avoid litigation and protect their families through thoughtful estate planning.

After seeing a number of young parents pass away, she wanted to make sure people had a plan for their families. Marjorie is passionate about helping people ensure their family will get through any emergency with as few legal problems as possible.

She is admitted to five Federal district courts, the United States Ninth Circuit, the Arizona and California bars, and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2019. She is also a member of Wealth Counsel and the Maricopa County Bar Association.

Marjorie deeply enjoys contributing to her community and has volunteered with a number of organizations – with and for her children as they were growing up, and her legal community, in a professional capacity.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, playing classical piano and horseback riding. Marjorie has been married for 30 years, has two adult children and a horse named Sunny.
