Did you break the silence today? No? So, right now is the best time. Let's discuss in today's episode the mentality created in the Middle Age about lesbian relationships. 

It’s a delicate subject, especially if we consider that the term “lesbian” was started being used as a connotation for same sex-lovers in modern times. We will talk about historical sources that could help us to identify the existence of lesbian in this period. However, why is that so complicated? Because everything we have written from that time was made by, first, mans, second, religious from the Catholic Church. It is almost impossible to have any documentation or testimony from women directly. So the perspective we have about the women’s life at that time was built by a patriarchal society, leaving the women without a voice. Women that behave against the catholic rules were considered which, living in pact with the devil.

This is definitely one of my favorite books. The Well of loneliness was written in 1928 by the author Radclyffe Hall, in a world still hostile to female writers. We will be talking about Radclyffe Hall's biography, the importance of her writing for the LGBTQIA+ community, and the biological theory behind The Well of Loneliness: The Congenital Inversion.
