The Reality (and Downside) of the Arrival Fallacy and How to Pivot with Dr. Erin McBride Johnson
Dr. Erin McBride Johnson is an emergency medicine physician who burned out...twice. For awhile, she put her head down and "pushed through" clinging onto the belief that life will get better, "Once I'm an attending." And in many ways, it did. But, it was temporary.
On today's episode, we talk about:
The challenges of becoming a new attending that we don't learn about in training but can have a big impact on our career and happiness. Why, "Just push through" isn't always the best approach. The changes that she made to pivot her career and it wasn't solely changing jobs. The power of shifting the stories we tell ourselves. Resources:
