This position is new to the City of Milton and will be working to guide the work plan for the Milton Youth Coalition.

    Heather Olsen, Donor Recruitment Account Manager for the American Red Cross, joined us for this episode of We Are Milton to talk about the crisis facing the nation due to the low number of blood donations. We talked about how you can find a blood donation event, what types of blood donations are available, and what motivates people to donate.

    Police Chief Scott Marquardt joined us for this episode of We Are Milton. Chief Marquardt spoke about Human Trafficking Prevention Month and his involvement with the Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force.

    Accreditation: A Building Block for Trust

    Police Chief Scott Marquardt provided information about the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) accreditation process. The Milton Police Department first received accreditation in 2014, and is currently working through their second reaccreditation. Departments need to go through reaccreditation every 3 years. The accreditation process requires a public comment period, which will take place in October. Watch the City's website (www.milton-wi.gov) and social media for more information in the coming weeks. The Milton Police Department has also started making their policies available on the City's website for the community to review (www.milton-wi.gov/537/Policies).
