    #23: Realising An Olympic Dream with Evie Haseldine

    Evie Haseldine is a sailor in the Australian sailing team and Paris 2024 Olympic hopeful. Evie is a Sydneysider who has dreamt of competing in an Olympic Games ever since she started sailing. At the age of 14, Evie competed at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires in 2018.
    In 2022, Evie completed her first European Season with the Australian Sailing Team, competing at 3 world cups, and a European and World Championship in the 49erFX Women’s Olympic Skiff Class. A highlight of the year was bronze at the Netherlands World Cup just 6 months after starting with her skipper and coach.
    Evie is now preparing for the 2023/24 season training at the national training centre in Sydney. Next on her radar is qualifying the country for the 2024 Olympic Games.
    Off the water, Evie is studying a Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Media and Communications) Majoring in Anthropology. Evie is also a member of the NSWIS Athlete Advisory Group.
    I had the pleasure of meeting Evie back at the start of Covid when she was part of my Monday Night Meditation Sessions as well as completing my Meta Athlete Coaching Program. Hearing how far Evie has come, and the lessons she has learned about herself on this journey of becoming an Olympic athlete were amazing to hear in this conversation.
