    Episode 3 - Amie Kaufman

    Episode 3 - Amie Kaufman

In this episode, I talk to Amie Kaufman and my friend Josephine. Amie is a New York Times Best Selling Author of books including the Illuminae Files, the Starbound Trilogy and her new book Ice Wolves (amongst many others).
This is what Amie has to say:
    On writing:
I wanted to have a job that let me read a lot of books, travel a lot and do interesting things. I feel pretty lucky that this job lets me do that.

Everyone's life is different when you have a lot of books. They let you go to lots of places without leaving the house.

Before I was a writer, I was a mediator - which was great because it taught me empathy which is necessary for writers.
What advice would you give your 9/10/11 year old self:
Don't worry about what other people think. If something is important to you, then let it be important. The only person who can be you is you.

Everyone is different in ways that important. BE proud of who you are.
    On failure:
It is not always a fun thing - but it is a good thing. If you are failing at something that means you are trying to do something.  If you don't try to do something, that's a pretty boring way to live.

    Episode 2 - Rechelle Hawkes

    Episode 2 - Rechelle Hawkes

Click below to listen to episode two of the Go Girls Podcast.  In this episode, I talk to Rechelle Hawkes and my friend Maria. Rechelle is a triple Olympic gold medal HockeyRoo. She has also taken the Athlete's Oath at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. She is a superstar!
On results that don't go your way:

•There are always results that you're not happy with. As an athlete, you are always striving for excellence. Seoul 88 always drove her on to be a better player in the future.
•A lot of people give up after their first disappointment. Get back up on, reset your goals and reevaluate. Keep persevering. On losing gracefully:

•It is about not sulking and whinging and carrying on and complaining. Be respectful for the opposition and say to your team and yourself: "let's learn from this. Next time we are going to do better."On life:

•Never give up ..  you are going to have setbacks along the way. Small setbacks or big setbacks. You have to keep persevering. no one has everything thing go all their way all the time.On failure:

•You have to have failure.. We tend to learn more from our failures because we focus in on what we did wrong. Failures are good.Go Girls
