Hell And Gone is a true crime podcast from iHeartPodcasts and School of Humans that follows journalist and private investigator Catherine Townsend as she investigates unsolved deaths. Now in its fifth season, Hell and Gone is going weekly. Over the past five years of making true crime podcast Hell and Gone, host Catherine Townsend has received hundreds of messages from people all around the country asking for help with an unsolved murder that’s affected them, their families and their communities. In past seasons of the show, she’s only been able to focus on one case. But now, she’s hosting a new weekly show called Hell and Gone Murder Line. Every Thursday, Catherine features a new case, adds updates to old ones, and helps as much as she can to get the word out about unsolved murders. If you have a case you’d like Catherine and her team to look into, you can call the Hell and Gone Murder Line at 678-744-6145.

Just listened to session 4, how sad for Ebby and her loved ones 😢 As for the police investigation….. disgraceful. They all need sacking and the investigation started from scratch. I pray her mum and family will one day know the truth and justice will prevail 🙏🏼🥰
Annoying

If only American podcasters weren’t so lazy and simply told the story with far fewer recordings of people in and around the narrative.
No attention paid to podcast quality

Some recordings are inaudible, losing the point of the conversation, and the story telling is often self serving. Has a lot of potential but doesn’t quite make it. The advertising is so invasive and persistent that I would swap to a paid model if the quality was better, but in its current form I just hit fast forward through the adverts, no I’m about to delete the show before finishing it.
Strangely poor story telling.

This is an oddly unsatisfying story. For so many “wow” angles in the case, the podcast is lazy and smug; odiously self congratulatory without substantiating accolades. The enormous number of ads is also really problematic and the way the host says Hell And Gone repeatedly like a woman’s name Helen Gawn, is beyond irritating. It’s such a shame that this powerhouse of a tale is reduced to lacklustre dullness. There is so much opportunity missed to get psychological insight of depth, but this podcast skims the surface and adds in constant references to “my dad’s job” which waters down any fragment of credibility the host may have. Such a shame. Could be good, but isn’t. Perhaps you need to look at “Cold” to see how investigative journalism really works. But maybe that’s why this is just private eye stuff. …
