Independent Thinking - Christian Gafner, Mechanik2 watch and the next chapter of the MIH Watch

Fifth Wrist Radio

Another episode of the Independent Thinking Show for @FifthWrist Radio.

This is a place dedicate to showcasing the great people doing interesting and cool things in the world of horology.

In this episode, hosts Roman (@TimesRomanAU) and Claus (@tapir_ffm) sit down for a chat with Christian Gafner; watch designer and the man behind the recent launch of the Mechanik2 watch (@mih_watch) - next chapter for the legendary MIH Watch.

Mechanik2 is the evolution of the legendary MIH watch, conceived by Dr Ludwid Oeschlin, with design by Christian Gafner and prototyping by Paul Gerber (what a team!!!)

The MIH watch was a major milestone in the history of independent horology, and was in production between 2005 and 2020.

Now, Christian is launching the next evolution of the MIH watch - the Mechanik2 watch (currently available for preorder).

Join us for an open and honest conversation about the history of the MIH; the evolution of the design for Mechanik2 timepiece and the principles of good design. We also talk about sneakers; Christian’s work with Eterna and Porsche Designs; as well as ethical packaging and just what it take to be an indie watchmaker today.

A great episode for all indie horology fans.
