A Story of Human Struggle, Courage, and Resilience [Ep: 645]
When we make mistakes in life we must find the courage and stamina to proceed and move positively with our life. Dr. Anthony Manna, award-winning children's author and author of Loukas and The Game of Chance joins Ashley on Live Your True Life Perspectives. Dr. Manna explains his reasoning for creating such a thoughtful and meaningful story. The story will inspire all to be kind, to see the value of every living animal and human being on the planet, and to expose the way we deal with setbacks especially setbacks that we ourselves have created. In the story, Loukas makes a meaningful friendship with an unlikely type. In the process, Loukas is rewarded for his care and he creates a special bond. Later on in the story, because of anger and trying to prove someone wrong about him and his family he loses everything and has to go on a self-understanding quest to get his life back and make the wrongs right. In the process, he learns much about himself and much about the world we live in. The story is meaningful no matter what your age because we've all made a decision that hurt us, however, it wasn't the mistake but it is the resolution and action that we take to resolve the situation that calls on our depth and followthrough where we find our purpose, personal power, and fortitude. Followthrough and life engagement is key to a mindful and thoughtful life. Dan Nelson joins us to discuss helping Jeff to find his birth father and how it all came together to reveal the information Jeff had been wanting. If Dan had not followed through and others hadn't reached out to Dan, Jeff wouldn't have received this information that is changing his life forever.

Seeing Past Disability with Stenetta Anthony Ep.
We are all unique and everyone is different. We possess wonderfully unique qualities that differentiate us from others. Some of us are dealing with disabilities that also make us different from others. Having a disability can be extremely challenging because of the way the outside world treats and views us. Today, Ashley is talking with Stenetta Anthony, author of "A Home for Sally" an authentic book that is opening the dialogue about disability and societal value placement. In this book, we look at the concept of disability with regard to Sally who is missing a paw. Sally is awaiting being adopted. As Sally awaits adoption, she watches how the other puppies that came in the adoption facility at the same time as her are all adopted except her. Eventually, Sally is adopted by a wonderful family who loves Sally. This book applies to the human experience of being disabled and how people stare, overlook, or ignore because of their own judgment, fear, or insecurities dealing with others. Sometimes people lack empathy and understanding because they haven't had to deal with something of this magnitude. Stenetta, a veteran educator, has been instilling solid ideals within all of her students for twenty plus years. Sally's story will warm your heart and articulates what we people go through with disabilities.
What does Personal Freedom Mean to You? [Ep: 636]
What does freedom mean to me and how do I become free and get freedom in my life? It seems life is not free, we are told what to do, the career we should have, and now we are told when we can leave the house and what we have to wear when leaving the house. Most of us talk about being free and wanting freedom, in order to be free what do we choose for our life path? How do we stay away from societal and government limitations and others telling us what we should and should not do? Dan Nelson joins us later in the hour to discuss how these times in our history are not that strange. Back in the 1700's we were toppling over statues, getting rid of historical monuments that we feel holds us back and doesn't dictate our future. In any society, there is change and chaos, its been that way since the beginning.
This show will help you to stop defining you by social limitations, it's up to you to define you.

Flaws are human and we need to take inventory, overcome, and have personal forgiveness to move forward in our life. We begin by healing ourselves first before being able to heal other people. Patricia Love, The RaRa Coach joins Ashley in the studio to discuss how we can empower ourselves and empower others. Patricia works with women to help them understand how to treat themselves with respect and love and that directly relates to how they treat others and do their day-to-day. Listening to this podcast will empower, encourage, and motivate you to take a positive inventory and ultimately be a good friend to yourself. Time to refocus and refuel!
Are you living for yourself instead of living for others? [Ep.634]
Answer the wake-up call...It's time to live your life for yourself instead of everyone else. Society tells us we have to have kids, we must make a certain amount of money each year, we shouldn't be divorced, we should live this life, where this watch, drive this car and look this way...Is this the way you want to live your life? Does this way of life work for you or are you ready to make a change? Are you ready to stop judging yourself, are you ready to make your own decisions about what matters, and are you ready to not feel guilty about your choices? Our resident historian, Dan Nelson joins us on today's show to discuss a man named Benjamin Smith. Benjamin Smith is a survivor that overcame great odds by escaping from the British on multiple occasions and ended up living a life that makes history. He was supposed to die on the prisoner ship but escapes and continues escaping until he is free. It's up to you to escape the mundane and to make history in your own life. If you want to change your circumstances, you can and you will!
