PDA episode
21/06/2023
I felt very uncomfortable with the PDA episode- you acknowledge you have no experience parenting a PDA child yet you very confidently prescribe what not to do, it seems you believe children inherently will exploit parents who negotiate, collaborate or give reasons for their requests/actions and advise against this because the child will grow up and expect to negotiate in unsuitable situations (eg employment). The inference being that parent / child relationship is about maintaining power and control over the child, that they should do what you tell them without questioning - something that will amplify resistance from a PDA child, and is dangerous for all children as it makes them vulnerable in any situation with a more powerful figure. Just awful advice. Won’t be listening to anymore.
