    #834 I Tried Carnivore Diet For 90 Days - Here's What It Did To My Body! with Ben Azadi

    I decided to give the carnivore diet a shot. I ate nothing but meat for 90 days in a row. I decided to get extensive lab testing done on day 1 and day 90. You will not believe my day 90 results.


    Why did I decide to do carnivore?
    The benefits of carnivore.

    The lab tests that were done:
    Comprehensive blood work
    Stool test 
    Other metrics tracked.
    Sleep
    HRV
    Resting heart rate
    Total weight
    Body fat %
    Digestion 
    Bowel movements 

    THE RESULTS….

    Before I get into the specific lab results, I’ll share these results.
    I lost 16 pounds of fat (show photos of me in front of mirror) in folder. 3 photos. 

    My sleep improved. HRV improved. Resting heart rate. Got up less times throughout the night.

    Digestion was great, minimal gas. I pooped less but not constipated. 

    Nothing substantial to report in regards to blood sugar, it was pretty stable, between 70-110 mg/dl throughout.

    Today, I'm fortunate to welcome Dr. Jason Fung for the fifth time. Jason Fung, MD, was born in 1973 and trained in Los Angeles and Toronto as a kidney specialist. He founded The Fasting Method (TheFastingMethod.com) to provide evidence-based advice for weight loss and managing blood sugars, focusing on low carbohydrate diets and intermittent fasting.

    In this episode, Dr. Jason Fung emphasizes that fasting should not be followed by binge eating, as it negates the benefits of the fast. The purpose of fasting is to allow the body to use its stored calories, such as glucose and fat, which is beneficial for weight loss and managing type 2 diabetes. If one consumes excessive calories after fasting, the body will store these extra calories as fat, thereby hindering progress.

    Tune in as Dr. Fung explains certain foods stimulate GLP-1, a hormone that helps regulate appetite. Protein-rich foods make you feel full quickly, while bitter foods like arugula, dandelion greens, ginger, and spices such as turmeric, fenugreek, and cinnamon can suppress appetite. However, while pharmaceutical interventions targeting GLP-1 can be powerful, they are not always ideal due to potential side effects, such as nausea and loss of enjoyment in food.
