Oscar Trimboli on what it means to listen beyond the words

We’re talking all about listening (Oh the irony)

It’s been said that we evaluate our ability to listen much like we evaluate our ability to drive a car. We grossly over estimate our skills. To help us discover what it means to listen deeply I’m joined by the leading expert in this space, Oscar Trimboli.

Oscar is an author, host of the Apple award-winning podcast Deep Listening and a sought-after keynote speaker. He is passionate about using the gift of listening to bring positive change in homes, workplaces and cultures around the world.

Through his work with chairs, boards of directors and executive teams in local, regional and global organisations, Oscar has experienced firsthand the transformational impact leaders and organisations can have when they listen beyond the words.

He believes that leadership teams need to focus their attention and their listening on building organisations that have impact and create powerful legacies for the people they serve – today and, more importantly, for future generations.

Oscar is a marketing and technology industry veteran with over 30 years’ experience across general management, sales, marketing and operations for Microsoft, PeopleSoft, Polycom, Professional Advantage and Vodafone.

Kim Kaupe on positioning and showing up more intentionally online

Kim Kaupe on positioning and showing up more intentionally online

We’re kicking off season 05 with a bang with the incredible Kim Kaupe joining me to talk about showing up more intentionally online.

Kim told me that people can NO you before they KNOW you because of how we show up online. I give her a call to talk about what we need to know about positioning ourselves in this globally connected society we live in.

In January 2020 at age 34 Kim kicked off a tour with Oprah while juggling clients like Paul McCartney, The NY Mets, Ace Comic Con & Shawn Mendes. In those 9 years she learned how to go from zero clients to Oprah, no one knowing who she was to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and not knowing what an LLC was to securing offers from 4 out of 5 sharks on Shark Tank.

Kim describers herself as an accidental entrepreneur and now works with executives & future leaders to harness their voice & image to expand their network. She dusts off the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary in her clients whose perceived value in the workplace does not match the actual value they bring to the table.

A conversation with MyBudget founder Tammy Barton on financial health and transforming our relationship with money.

A conversation with MyBudget founder Tammy Barton on financial health and transforming our relationship with money.

    We're Talking About Money

It's something that touches almost every part of our life and yet something we don't talk a lot about openly.

My guest is Tammy Barton, managing director of Australian business MyBudget and she told me that when we transform our money it can transform our life. And yet while there's a lot of information available to us around mental or physical health, there's not a lot enough conversations about financial health.

Today I give her a call to talk about how we can transform our relationship with money.

Tammy Barton is one of Australia’s most influential business women and female entrepreneurs. She’s the founding director of MyBudget, a service that she started as a home-based business in South Australia more than 22 years ago (1999), and which has since grown into one of Australia’s most trusted and recognised financial services brands.

MyBudget relieves money worries and helps people achieve their financial goals via personal budgeting and money coaching. Today, the business employs more than 270 staff and has helped more than 110,000 clients.

Tammy is a respected authority on personal budgeting and money management, who regularly features in the media as a personal finance expert and influential entrepreneur. She has won the Telstra Business Woman of the Year (South Australia) twice, the Australian Government Business Innovation Award among multiple other recognitions, including Ernst & Young’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Central Region.)

Tammy and the team at MyBudget are on a mission to promote financial responsibility and help Australians to live free from money worries.

Luke Mathers on the good side of stress

Luke Mathers on the good side of stress

    We're Talking About Stress

Trigger Warning: this episode briefly discusses issues around mental health, depression and suicide.

My guest is speaker, coach and author Luke Mathers and he told me that stress can be a good thing, even a superpower if we don't let it stick to us.

Today I give him a call to explore how we can lead ourselves better in the area of stress.

Luke is the author of Stress Teflon, and 28 years in business have taught him that stress isn’t going away any time soon. If you want to have better health, relationships and success, you need to get good at stress.

As one of the original directors of Specsavers in Australia, Luke was part of the biggest retail roll-out in Australia’s history. 100 stores in 100 days. His practice was the biggest in the country and set global records that were previously unheard of.

Luke retired for the first time at age 31. After transforming his UK Specsavers practice (increasing turnover 350% in just three years) Luke returned to Australia to relax and put his feet up. It wasn't long before he realised he missed something....STRESS!

Helping people become Stress Teflon and to RESET Stress is his mission. Through his keynote speeches, workshops and coaching he helps people turn threats into challenges. As the book says “it’s good being you when stress doesn’t stick.”

Keeps it real

Everyone has different needs. This podcast hits the spot for me. Shane actively encourages the guest speakers to be themselves, be human. Not lofty! I’m working my way through the episodes choosing topics purposely and at a time that work for me - that relate to the mindset I’m in at the time. So far the speakers make me have goose bumps they are that good!

Weekly dose of top-notch thought leadership

From the very first episode with Rohan Dredge (which was recorded as a LinkedIn Live session) Shane excels in leading thought provoking and insightful conversations on mindfully curated topics. His address book is seemingly full of incredible, inspiring and uplifting people and he is doing a great job of getting them to join him on air. Would have given it 6 stars if it was a options
