Fabulous science on why Its good to be vegan

I enjoy these podcasts very much. His guest speakers are on the whole very interesting. However, I wish he didn’t interrupt his podcasts to promote his book. It’s a great book but for regular listeners we have heard about it too much and makes me bit want to recommend the podcast because of the self promotion!

Heart patient dietary recommendations !!

I really enjoy every episode of The Plant Proof Podcast…I’ve learned so much from you and your very interesting guests.

Just listened to Episode 123 with Dr Alan Desmond. When he was talking about his early years as a gastroenterologist in the hospitals and a senior Dr told a young patient that he could eat whatever he liked to regain weight , as”calories are calories “( I believe McDonalds was the recommendation) it reminded me of when my husband had open heart surgery in a leading Sydney hospital in 2015.
After the (very successful) surgery, performed by a brilliant surgeon ,there were a number of unforeseen problems which resulted in a hospital stay of one month.

A dietitian told my husband that he needed to put weight back on, and she changed his daily meal plans to hot dogs, hamburgers, hot chips, deep fried fish and chips, cakes and puddings(3 times a day plus an extra serve before bed) soft drinks, lollies, ice cream etc etc.
She was not impressed that I would not accept this…in fact she became very hostile towards me and told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about and I should leave my husband’s health in the care of experts such as herself!!
