Mothering in Alignment, Mum Rage and Self Compassion with Perinatal Psychologist Yara Heary

Mothering in Alignment, Mum Rage and Self Compassion with Perinatal Psychologist Yara Heary

In today’s episode, we speak with Yara from Life After Birth Psychology.
Yara is a registered psychologist, a wife, mum of two, and a singer! Yara specialises in the perinatal space, seeing women before, during and after pregnancy - helping women to tune in to their inner voice and create a vision of motherhood that is theirs.
In this chat we speak about how Yara got into this space after the birth of her first son, who threw her into a journey of self discovery. We then delve deeply into the aspects of the motherhood experience women do not commonly speak about such as anger and rage, self compassion, our patriarchal culture and how this influences the way we mother and are expected to behave as mothers.
We also speak to Yara about practical ways to regulate our nervous systems, what rupture and repair is, how to be more self compassionate and the “beginner mindset”.
We truly loved this conversation and believe every mother should listen to it! If you loved it as much as us, please share with your family and friends and help us reach more women by rating and reviewing us on your podcast app.
