Ruined with Alison Leiby and Halle Kiefer

As I cowered beneath the bed, I held my breath, desperate not to scream and reveal my hiding place. Footsteps approached down the hall, and I watched as a shadow paused beneath my door. The door creaked open, revealing their feet as they entered the room. They lingered, breathing heavily. Slowly, they moved toward my desk where my laptop still played Ruined. "I might survive this," I dared to think, when suddenly the laptop fell silent. My phone screen lit up with a notification: sound now playing from my phone. From the phone, Alison's voice blared, "Guess the twisttttt." Their boots pivoted towards me. They knew where I was. I never got to say goodbye to my dog.

For years I’ve thought my strange tendency to be fascinated by horror movies but too terrified to watch them (particularly torture/gore ones) was a weird niche of mine. I’d dive deep into plot summaries online so I knew exactly what happened in gory movies without any intention of watching them myself! It was only last month I discovered that there were podcasts dedicated to that very thing!! And I could not believe it 😂 anyway, I listened to a couple but this podcast has been my absolute fav and since finding it, I’ve been working through so much of the back catalog. The hosts use of humour and how easy they are to listen to when I’m doing errands has been an absolute delight for me! Thanks so much girls xx 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Allison and Halle are so entertaining! Such intelligent, fun and witty women, it feels like you’re listening to a conversation between your two good friends. I’m so glad I discovered this fantastic podcast!

I discovered this podcast while on maternity leave - I binged two years of content in less than a month. In doing so I have become so attached to both Halle and Alison - the cadence of your voices have been such a soothing presence - even while you say the worst things imaginable. ‘You hate to see it’ , ‘unfortunately’ and ‘I’m sorry to report’ now pepper my every day speech! Thank you for keeping me company during those long sleepless night with the baby!
