i want to be fluent in maori and talk to my kids
i am a tuhoe woman and also torres trait islander born in brissie and i want to be able to have conversations with my future children and listen to maori tv without the english subs
There is hope!
Grants’ story is so similar to mine. I was born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia disconnected from language and culture. I have young kids now and would love to pass cultural knowledge on to them!! This gives me hope it can be done, yay! My dad is Maori but comes from the generation where they weren’t aloud to speak Maori at home. Hopefully I can pass something on to my little ones. Thanks :)
Happy learner!
Mean mahi 🖤 I have listened to all of Grant's you tube videos and now I will be listening to these podcasts 👌🏽 Thank you for helping me with my journey learning Te Reo Māori!
- Similar story, I live in Brisbane and I am intergating as much reo into our life for my children and their māori connection!
