Stephen Multari

Say You Say Me.

Welcome to episode 4 of Say You Say Me the accentED podcast. The podcast about accents and the actors that do them.

In this episode, your host, accent and dialect coach Linda Nicholls-Gidley, interviews Australian actor Stephen Multari.

Stephen is a founding member and co-artistic director of MopHead Productions – a theatre company established in Sydney Australia in 2012 -  which has toured productions Australia-wide. His culturally ambiguous appearance has seen him cast in a string of diverse roles, working with a number of different accents and languages.

In 2017 he moved to Germany, studied the language and subsequently scored his first TV gig in Europe. He has since made the move to Los Angeles after winning the Green Card Lottery in 2019.

He is soon to appear as Charlie Chaplin in the German production Das Weiße Haus am Rhein.

Stephen discusses his process for accent acquisition, the importance of the relationship with a dialect coach and what it's like working in an English accent on a predominantly German speaking set.
