6 episodes

After we shared our story in written form in May 2017, we wanted to expand our audience by turning it into a podcast. We decided to split our story into three separate episodes: Entering the System, Dealing with the System, and Surviving the System. At the end of each episode we have our roundtable discussions, where we [the Junket Crew] compare our own experiences in the foster care system with what the character in our story goes through. Through our podcast, we hope to shine more light on the realities of being in foster care and how those listening can participate in the system as a supporting role for those in care.

    Beats with Spree Wilson

    Beats with Spree Wilson

To close out our marvelous year on a high note, we spent time with Spree Wilson, a Brooklyn-based musician. We learned about making beats, attended his live performance at The Knitting Factory, and hosted him for a Q&A at the Junket studio.
Highlights of this episode include Junketeer Lexy freestyling to Spree’s beats in the studio, reflections on our first concert, and hearing Spree talk about overcoming stage fright.
    It was lit.
We are so thankful for Spree taking the time and giving us a glimpse into the world of music. So listen and basically- spread the word!

MAKING CROWNS FOR KINGS & QUEENS

MAKING CROWNS FOR KINGS & QUEENS

For our first adventure of 2019, we met on a Saturday to build flower crowns with floral designer India LoFaso in her Brooklyn studio, and then photographer Kreg Holt set up a photo shoot for us to model our creations.
In this episode you will get to share our experience as we head behind the scenes in the studio as we made and modeled flower crowns. After, India joined us for a Q&A as we talked through her experiences of starting her own business. We learned a lot from India on flowers, creating art, and bringing it full circle to starting a business from scratch doing something you love.
Thanks to both for making our first adventure a success and giving us the chance to feel accomplished. If you know someone who wants to have a marvelous year, please pass this along!
