ADHD Adults podcast

These three wonderful people can help all adults with ADHD to understand themselves better. The at times pelagic method of presenting is also very funny, heartfelt, informative and compassionate. If you or someone you care about is an adult with ADHD then this podcast is a great place to learn more and also have a laugh.

Fantastic Mix of Monty Python, educational material and Trainspotting

As most I stumbled on this show by accident while looking for information on Adult ADHD. The best way to describe this show is: 2 PHD Doctors (not medical doctors) and Mrs ADHD (Squirrel in a cage 😂) later in the podcast discussing day to day issues and questions one may have about ADHD. Especially questions one may have if diagnosed late in life. There is no sugarcoating and all 3 of them have ADHD. So expect the unexpected, buckle in for a roller coaster that it is. And don’t expect a happy ending… 🛎️… (when you know, u’ll know)

I’ve ummed and ahed about making this comment

I’ve ummed and ahed about making this comment.
I discovered this podcast when I was first diagnosed and was looking for material to learn about my new diagnosis. At first I found it really refreshing. The silly joking mixed in with fantastic information from reliable sources and delivered by people who know what they are talking about. This side of the podcast I still enjoy, and value. The part I find particularly dangerous though is how enabling this podcast is to having or developing a ‘victim mentality’. Two PHD doctors claiming that being required to fill in forms is “ableist” is preposterous. As someone who has ADHD, Bipolar, and apparently ‘high functioning autism’ I understand things being a struggle at times and the genuine need to get assistance, but I never look to excuse my behaviour or make my problems anyone elses. These things are also not part of who I am as a person, nor will I ever let them become that. I truly feel that with the waves of young ‘TikTok’ kids coming through with self diagnosis, who not only treat mental illness as a personality trait but they also expect the world to bend the knee to their wants and needs, podcasts that even slightly tilt toward victim hood enable these attitudes further.
I’m hoping I get my point across without rambling too much, and I do genuinely care for the three of you even if I don’t know you at all personally, but it’s a danger I see and it’s also a progression I’ve seen develop in you guys the hosts as well (as presented on the podcast).
