Customer Reviews
Great podcast
Best car podcast I have found so far, with interesting and intelegent discussion about all classes of cars and the wider car industry and not just the highly desirible ones. As an Australian this can be both a blessing and a curse, as many of the everyday cars they review are not available here. That said I still enjoy hearing about them and they describe things in enough detail so you can understand what they're on about. They also seem very indipendent and unbiased, unlike some podcasts I've listened to which were sponsered by particular companies. They certainly aren't afraid to stick the boot in if they think someone has brought out a dud.
The 3 Ranketeers
This is great stuff if your a person like me who likes and gets not just cool cars, but the whole car industry and a broader understanding of the things. If you just want to hear about the latest 700hp monster, then maybe not for you. But if good design, industry news, oddities, personalities and a larger interest of all things car related might be interesting or enlightening to you, read on.
Sure, they love cars, but Chris, Dan and Sam are also have good depth of knowledge of the industry being reviewers and living cars. They all have their own strong opinions but manage to be open to heated debate which is great, forming an eclectic bunch with some great expression. They banter between themselves and the guests, who when drawn into the (not always calm) friendly chats about all things cars can also be pretty interesting. It's a wonderful natural style and in the face of so many other more in your face presentation methods, it stands out in being eminantly listenable while working, relaxing or driving.
Dan could just about file for a trademark on his side-track opionated monologues as 'Dangents' that derail things but always seem enjoyable and respectable as he knows himself they're his opinions. And I agree, we need a cheaper lotus elise simple 4 seat sedan. A modern 70's Ford Escort successor. Chris helps keep things rolling along when Dan done his best to go wandering off some other way and threatens to derail the show from having any structure, and provides his own unique bent on cars. Sam is the engineer and completes the group so nicely. While perhaps not as verbose as the other two generally, he is knowledgable and has been involved on the inside of developing cars so has more than the usual hacks experience and understanding. Then being an engineer talking about what he is interested in, when he gets passionate his words can get pretty strong. He currently crusades under a 'diesel in USA' banner.
While an American podcast, I seriously recommend it to any non-american as it provides great insight into the American market, as well as being flat out entertaining. Just download it. It's free and is more enjoyable than most stuff I buy.
Full marks, keep it up guys.
