Tully Zygier The challenge of managing our own expectations

Peta and Tully have a great chat this week. It is one of the most honest and frank conversations ever on the podcast.

How does the low expectations of society and the high expectations of our parents shaped us as disabled women?

    When Centrelink makes you cry

    When Centrelink makes you cry

The title says it all. It doesn't have to be like this.

Find out how the very government department that is supposed to be supporting people with disabilities, made me someone with a disability, feel like a complete imposture and failure.

    So what is accessible housing?

    So what is accessible housing?

When disability varies from person to person so much how is a home created to be accessible?

Well, this is in one of Peta's sweet spots in her knowledge. Accessible construction and design is a passion of Peta's; so much so she has a qualification in the area.

So this episode is in two halves, first Peta will take about what makes her home accessible for her and her disability.

Then a very special guest Jenna Cohen from Honeycomb Access & Design talks us through what makes a public building accessible both in design choices and from a legal standpoint.

Do you get jealous of people without a disability?

Do you get jealous of people without a disability?

Peta loves to get the sort of questions that many people might be too afraid to ask me. This question is one of them.

That might be one of the main reasons why it is one of the most honest episodes.

Did anything of the things Peta wishes she could do or experience surprise you?

Fun, Friendly, Fashion-forward!

Great podcast in short episodes that you can squeeze in in nice bursts as a break from things, or binge listen to! This podcast has really helped me examine my conscious and unconscious attitudes to disabled people and how they may unfairly experience our urban spaces. Peta is so easy going and pleasant to hear from, it’s like listening to a friend chat at a bar, cafe or kitchen table. People of all ages can enjoy this podcast and learn something.

What an amazing podcast. I’ve stumbled across Peta’s profile on Instagram, and she was so real, I was hooked. As someone passionate about disability rights, I would highly recommend Peta’s podcast to everyone in the field !!!

This podcast will change the world!

Eye-opening stuff! I genuinely think Peta is going to help people with this podcast. I own a tourism business and I’m already planning changes, and that’s after listening to only two podcasts. Easy to listen to whilst still being educational. Love it, keep up the good work. :)
