    Tasmanian sport scientist Dr. Joel Mason joined the Tassie Athlete team for a chat in late 2020, all the way from his new found home in Germany. Following a series of online articles, Joel shot to online fame following his article “Bundesliga Blueprint” - and has since been featured by no less than the ABC News, New York Times, AFL, TIFO football (750,000 subs), NBA, EPL, The Times, ESPN. Joel joins us to talk all things sports science, including his own love for track and field, and delves into some realisations that achieving success within your chosen sport may not be as linear as it seems.     S1E2: Comprehending Concussion With Izzy Flint

    Some who witnessed Izzy Flint's crash in New Zealand described it as the most horrific incident they'd ever seen. Without close family and friends nearby, Izzy had to venture back home to Tasmania with a series of physical injuries but also with what they called a 'severe concussion'. Over the following 18 months, she's had to come to terms with the often hidden impacts of concussion and a different outlook on life. In her podcast episode with TA, we extend on the article and video previously done featuring Izzy to chat all things cycling, Launceston and concussion; including the importance of family and friends, the challenges of comprehending changes and explaining to others as well as future ambitions.
