How To Reach Aussies For Jesus Now

In this episode, Tina Waldrom speaks with Drew Gormlie from Reach Nation. Drew has been faithfully reaching out to Aussies for a few decades. The lessons he has learnt about the journey Aussies take, are invaluable. Over the years, Drew has seen the Australian culture change in many ways. His rich experience helps him understand how to reach Aussies for Jesus now.

Drew sees the journey, that people take to discovering Christ as the key. That journey looks remarkably different to what it did decades ago. He shares many insightful tips from the real-life stories of those he has discipled. Drew is a ‘true-blue’ Aussie in every sense. His laid back, she’ll be right mate attitude, is helping him and others that he trains, to share Christ effectively.

Spiritual Advisor to the Gold Coast Mayor

Spiritual Advisor to the Gold Coast Mayor

Tina Waldrom speaks with Sue Baynes who is the spiritual advisor to the Gold Coast Mayor in Queensland, Australia. Sue never prayed for this position, nor did she see the opportunity coming. Sue, a local Christian minister at the time, was asked to come and meet with a gentleman who was running for the Mayor’s office. Sue took up the opportunity, seeing it as a simple way to be connected to her city.
Sue tells the story of what happened on the way to that meeting and how that gentleman, Tom Tate went on to become the Mayor. As the Mayor, Tom was baptised publicly and referred to as the Lord’s Mayor. She has been supporting him and his family ever since. Sue talks about how the gospel influences the Mayor’s life and in turn flows over to the community on the Gold Coast. There are some wonderful insights into the life of a politician and the challenges facing Christians in politics.

    Food Relief and the Gospel

    Food Relief and the Gospel

Tina Waldrom speaks with Kellie Wishart around the intersection of food relief and the gospel. Kellie is involved in the area of providing food relief through her local church, Manningham Christian Centre. Kellie’s journey begun with a small pantry, today that has grown to a much larger service, named CareNet. Bringing food relief to an entire community and seeing how the gospel is experienced is a fascinating story.
Kellie is adamant that food relief is not ‘bait’, it is not a way to gain access to having spiritual conversations with people. There must be a line of integrity, one that realises that all of humanity are made in the image of God and each person has inherent worth. They are loved by God, and deserve food security. Kellie’s role begun as a volunteer and has now developed into a paid position. That story alone is testament to God’s provision in so many ways.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…
How an everyday Aussie lady starts a food pantry and now helps feed a community.
The ingredients for local churches to bring food relief in a Christlike manner.
What the church offers to a local community that others don’t.
Stories of people finding food relief and finding Jesus.
The power of providing food security and what it says about Jesus.
Specific ideas and philosophies for successful church engagement with social needs.
Ideas for people to be individually involved in bringing food relief.
    And so much more…

Tina Waldrom speaks with an undercover agent who rescues young girls and boys from the evil of human trafficking. The agent works with the organisation, Destiny Rescue. Human Trafficking is the ‘single most disgusting thing on the planet’, as stated by the agent in this interview. The agent interviewed, is a family man who decided to do something. His story, the journey to becoming an undercover agent and what is involved, is compelling.

    Doing Church Differently Post-COVID

    Doing Church Differently Post-COVID

Tina Waldrom speaks with Paul Jackson who is doing church differently post-COVID. Paul is the senior leader at Kingdom Life Centre, Brisbane, Queensland. COVID was a gift to Paul as he had wanted to experiment with the traditional church service for some time. In fact, Paul had asked the Lord to shut down services so he could focus the church further outward. It’s a fascinating story.
Paul has led the church for a few decades and is no ordinary pastor. Paul’s heart is for the community and for people to come to know Christ. A few years ago, he started what is known as Park Ridge Connect. It is an extraordinary ministry that interfaces the community. COVID, however, gave further opportunities for Paul to encourage the church outward. He has now re-shaped what Sunday church looks like and is leading a new expression of church in Australia.

In this podcast episode, you will discover…
How an existing church can transform church services to reach the community.
The ingredients to truly reaching your local community.
How a focus on disciple making and not discipleship can grow the Kingdom.
The power of embracing new opportunities to spread the gospel.
Ideas to reach your neighbourhood for Christ.
A strategy for church services that focus on disciple making.
What it takes to be the church and not just play church.
Keys and tools to consider when moving a church outward.
    And so much more…
