Yale Center for Clinical Investigation
Faculty associated with the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation talk about their efforts to put knowledge to work for patients. They tell stories of research that helps obese children achieve a healthy body weight, addresses the root causes of cardiovascular disease in African Americans and offers the parents of autistic children proven strategies to help their children – in other words, research with real-life benefits. The Yale Center for Clinical Investigation was launched in 2006 to support and promote clinical research, which works directly with patients, and translational research, which applies basic laboratory science to clinical problems. It was one of the first 12 centers awarded a Clinical and Translational Science Award by the National Institutes of Health. Its mission is to help scientists and doctors bring research discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic to patients in New Haven and around the world.
