    Inside the Creator Studio: Shermay U. of Artistic Hustlers

    The Case of the Crypto Criminal

    In honor of Halloween this month, I wrote a brand new original thriller story for the Social Musings by Austin podcast and website. The story is called "The Case of the Crypto Criminal," and is set in the Texas Hill Country in Castell, Texas. The story begins with a man named John “Jock” Messerschmidt, who is a fugitive on the run, and the terrifying ending includes a double homicide on Halloween night. Listen - IF YOU DARE! I wrote most of this story while visiting Castell on several occasions, and I hope that you go to visit some of the locations I feature in my thriller.     My Interview with Sojourner Truth

    Looking for some inspiration? In my Season Two Premiere of the Social Musings by Austin podcast, I interview American icon Sojourner Truth in the latest installment of my Interviews with Dead People series from the Social Musings by Austin website. How much progress have we made in modern society? In order to study this question further, I like to research the views of famous activists, philosophers and dignitaries from history and imagine if these icons lived in modern times. For this installment of my Interviews with Dead People series, I chose Sojourner Truth, enshrined in the National Women's Hall of Fame, not only because of her powerful message, but also because I admire her middle age reinvention into a social rights activist. Her words and actions are definitely worth revisiting, and they inspired me greatly. Similar to my interviews with other deceased dignitaries, (see the Interviews with Dead People collection on the Social Musings by Austin website), I am using Ms. Truth’s actual words in quotations, taken from her famous speech at the 1851 Women’s Rights Convention in Akron, Ohio and from the book “Sojourner Truth: A Life, A Symbol” by Nell Irvin Painter.

    Abducted in Amsterdam: A Nightmare Scenario

    This month on the podcast, I perform my brand new, original short story titled “Abducted in Amsterdam: A Nightmare Scenario”, which is about a European business meeting gone horribly wrong. At Social Musings by Austin, I want to entertain, inspire and help others achieve more fulfillment in their life. While this story is a work of fiction and meant to entertain, it is based on an actual nightmare I experienced when I was traveling over in The Netherlands earlier this year. When I woke up terrified and drenched in sweat, I decided to write a story about my dream. Another impetus to write the story is that I also have heard numerous troubling stories recently about friends being drugged while out in downtown Austin, and I wanted to to call attention to this emerging threat to all of our safety.     Honoring Our Heroes on Memorial Day

    This Memorial Day weekend, I am honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy our freedoms, including the freedom to choose our own career path. When I got to college, I gave up my life as a creative to pursue a successful career in finance. During COVID, my mental health deteriorated, and I decided to leave my high-powered Corporate America job and pursue my passions as an entrepreneur. As the Founder of my own media company, Social Musings LLC, I now have the freedom to choose how I live my life and to try to entertain, inspire and help others to have more fulfillment in their lives. Last month, I visited the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial (NACM) in Margraten, The Netherlands. The NACM is one of the largest cemeteries for WWII American soldiers in Europe, and honors over 10,500 lost souls who bravely gave their lives to liberate Europe from tyranny. I had a really powerful experience recently which reinforced my decision to choose freedom in my own life and career. I hope you enjoy the video and God Bless America. Please no more war.

I was recently dumped and had to go through the decision process of whether or not to stay connected on social media with my ex. In this episode, I detail the mental anguish I went through initially and talk about re-entering the online dating scene.
