    137. It's The Product, Stupid; Breguet Makes A Hublot; And Nothing Really Matters.

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined not only by Ariel, Ripley, and David but also by Richard Benc from Studio Underd0g. After some chitchat about how expensive it is for brands to attend Watches and Wonders, the guys jump right into a day in the life of Benc, who's starting his day with this podcast and then heading off to launch a new watch! He gives us some of the backstory of the new StudioUnderd0g 03 Series Monopusher, which dovetails with the topic of collaborations and their possibilities and limitations. Next up, there's a philosophical discussion of aBlogtoWatch's Mike Razak's recent column in which he poses existential questions related to our shared hobby. Then, levity returns with Guess the Price of the Seiko, a regular feature on this podcast. After a once-over of the controversial Ulysse Nardin Freak X Gumball 3000 limited edition, the team closes with a round of Hit, Miss, Maybe. 136. Black Is The New Black, Apple v Audemars, Form v Function And David Is Feeling Sad

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, Ripley, and David, as per usual. After some chat about Jeff Goldblum's new show, Chaos, in which a certain Casio timepiece figures prominently, Ariel and Ripley explain why they're exhausted. They've just returned from Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, where the brand debuted two new Apple Watch models. Because they drove up and back in a 12-hour round-trip loop, they were pooped. Nonetheless, they both had much to say about these two new watches, not to mention Apple's security system. David also discussed how some traditional watch brands frown upon watch media covering smartwatches at all — obviously, an interest for many of our readers. Moving on to a release at the opposite end of the spectrum, the team looks at the new Biver Automatique Watches, which Ariel thinks are "nice" in their design to be affordable. Ripley feels sure we'll see the same movement used in the Automatiques appear in other iterations in the near future. The guys have fun with this week's round of "Guess the Price of the Seiko," for which there's a $90,000 price gap among the guesses, so listen in to see who wins and who's way off base. As always, they end with a fun round of "Hit, Miss, Maybe." 0:00 Introduction 3:32 Hands-On Debut: Apple Watch Series 10 Titanium & Aluminum Smartwatches https://www.ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-debut-apple-watch-series-10-aluminum-titanium-smartwatches/ 5:50 Hands-On Debut: Apple Watch Ultra 2 Black DLC Titanium Smartwatch https://www.ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-debut-apple-watch-ultra-2-black-dlc-titanium-smartwatch/ 24:28 New Release: Biver Automatique Watches https://www.ablogtowatch.com/new-release-biver-automatique-watches/ 33:30 GUESS THE PRICE OF THE SEIKO New Release: Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Collection Spring Drive 5 Days SLGA025 https://www.ablogtowatch.com/new-release-grand-seiko-evolution-9-collection-spring-drive-5-days-slga025-watch/ 38:10 Hit, Miss, Maybe 45:38 New Release: Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Forged Carbon Watch https://www.ablogtowatch.com/new-release-tissot-prx-powermatic-80-forged-carbon-watch/ 55:00 New Release: Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Shades Of Grey Watch https://www.ablogtowatch.com/new-release-audemars-piguet-code-11-59-selfwinding-flying-tourbillon-chronograph-shades-of-grey-watch/ 1:06:00 Apples Watches Part Deux Check out ABTW on YouTube to catch up on the latest episodes of ABTWW, Hit, Miss, Maybe, video reviews, and more. 135. Passion Fruit Or Ugly Fruit? Collaborations No One Asked For, Max Busser TED Talk?, And The Best Watch Of Geneva Watch Days

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, Ripley, and David, the latter of whom is in an automotive showroom eating tiramisu and waiting for his car to be repaired. Ariel muses about why watch repair shops don't have waiting rooms, to which Ripley replies, "That would be a six-month rental." It's been a busy week in watch world, particularly for Ariel and David, who are fresh back from Geneva Watch Days. There was a heatwave in Geneva, and Ariel proclaimed Czapek & Cie to have won the sweat-resistant bracelet contest. David's take on GWD is that it was fun but way too much to take in during the time allotted. The guys get down to business with a look at the new H. Moser & Cie x Studio Underd0g collab, which Ariel thinks was designed in bright colors to attract insects and birds more than people. Rick simply doesn't get it, and David doesn't disagree. They then turn their attention to the new Konstantin Chaykin concept watch, ThinKing, the "world's thinnest mechanical watch." There's not a lot of traction among the team for this watch, either — but remember, it's a prototype. Rick has asked ChatGPT, "Which watch brand collaborations does no one want to see?" and the answer is the best possible argument against AI. Next up, Speake Marin has a new watch, the Ripples Skeleton, that the team has no truck with for various reasons discussed at length. All in all, it's been an iffy week of new watches. They wrap up with another round of Hit, Miss, Maybe. New Release: H. 134. Speed TAG, Watch Brand The Moon, All Roads Lead To Bremont And Tourbillons All The Way Down

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel and Ripley, along with Kevin Roberts (@kevin_roberts100) Azad Zangana (@aztime), and Will Charlesworth (@inquisitivepheasants). The show begins with banter about bequeathing watches, and Kevin decides, impromptu, who's getting what when he kicks the bucket. When the guys get down to business, the first topic up is Chanel's purchase of 25% of MB&F. The team shares their thoughts on three new watch releases:, starting with lots of love for the Urwerk EMC SR-71, followed by the "weird" but "cool" Hublot MP-13 Tourbillon Bi-Axis Retrograde watch, which Ariel describes as "niche 1.5." Lastly, they hem and haw about the new Roger Dubuis Orbis In Machina, obviously a pun of a name. As always, the show concludes with a round of Hit, Miss, Maybe. 133. Rolex Musical Chairs, Should You Be Paying Less, And Japanese “Paperounds”

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by the usual suspects, Ripley, David, and Ariel. After a brief foray into the scorching weather in Los Angeles and Budapest vs. Scotland, the quadrangle dives into a discussion about why luxury watch brands shouldn't raise prices on a set schedule. Next up, it's Guess the Price of the Seiko (spoiler alert: David won), and then the team scrutinizes a recent Tag Heuer drop from all angles. There's a brief digression about Ariel's push-pull relationship to the idea of maybe, possibly seeing a bear on a camping trip — is it a bear or a deer? No spoilers here. Finally, the guys are joined by Kevin Roberts (@kevin_roberts100) and Azad Zangana (@aztime) for another round of Hit, Miss, Maybe. This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Ripley, Rick, and David join from their usual spots while Ariel joins from Banff in Canada! Things kick off with Banff Bear Banter, as Ripley dispenses a surprising breadth of ursine knowledge. Talk gets back on track with Ariel's recent article on watch brand's servicing business, with a particular eye towards those brands that limit access to parts. Then they move on to a few reviews and new releases and finish as always with another round of Hit, Miss, Maybe.
