Common Sense with Dan Carlin
Common Sense with Dan Carlin is an independent look at politics and current events from popular New Media personality Dan Carlin. Carlin's self-described "Martian" viewpoints infuse each episode with a political alien's take on the world around us and the problems it faces. It's a smart, unique (and admittedly U.S.-centric) program that doesn't dumb down the information or analysis for the slowest person in the room. Carlin's rapid-fire staccato voice has been compared to William Shatner after too many espressos. That, plus his penchant for making everyone in the audience mad at him eventually, makes for a witch's brew of a podcast that is not for everyone. But for those craving a deeper intellectual analysis, a less partisan approach and unpredictable outside-the-box revelations, Common Sense with Dan Carlin is a feast for the mind.
A lifeline to sanity

In America as Dan, in Brazil as myself, or wherever else. Whether you agree with him or not, it is refreshing to see an articulated soul expressing the very anxieties that the world community have been feeling in these changing times. The Dan Carlin's version on Sanity is a good reason to believe that we can still rely on open discussion and logic. 6/5.
Leftwing Propaganda

This podcast was once good, now it has become Democratic party propaganda and Trump's hysteria. Former fan of the podcast in Brazil.
Politics like you never heard before

And it's not only if you are an American. Dan's analysis fit perfectly anywhere there ate political parties, conflicting interests and any sort of corruption. Mandatory if you want another view of what goes on in the US and in the world.
Lots of hype and hot air in a shiny package with Stars and Stripes

I used to be a huge fan of Dan Carlin's, first for the Hardcore History podcast, then Common Sense. The show is rather well produced and Carlin is a competent communicator. Just not an honest one. The obsession with "both-sides-do-itism" tells a lot, but anyone paying attention can see how it really plays as "both-sides-do-it-but-Democrats-are-worse". The country is run by Donald Trump and 20 minutes into the episode the criticism is about Antifa calling Trump supporters names. Not a peep about Trump voters attacks on people of color or terrorist acts in defense of Confederate symbols. Dan even concedes that perhaps the solution for American divisiveness ought to be "ethnic enclaves", since we "hate each other so much". To Dan the biggest problem in the US is corruption, and somehow he not once mentions the sitting President: nothing about his ties to foreign countries, the lack of transparency in his personal finances or the policies advanced by the administration: somehow the problem is how once upon a time Obama had the power to start wars and now we're in a crisis. I cannot recommend the show for someone in search of informed and level headed discussion on American politics. For anyone who hates politics in need of pablum and facile talking points, this is the show for you: Dan has a great voice and talks a lot of nothing beautifully.
