January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. NCJA 10-14 is dedicated to helping the cause by sharing vital information about prevention and survivor assistance. North Carolina consistently ranks within the top 10 states with the most reported number of human trafficking cases. Every year, millions of people become victims of human trafficking, whether through sexual exploitation or forced labor. In 2018, Cumberland County had the highest number of human trafficking charges than any other county in North Carolina.
Join host Kirk Puckett and guests Faith Boehmer, Bengie Hair, Johnny Leonard, and Bobbi Mattocks, as they discuss their work with human trafficking survivors and their involvement in WORTH Court. WORTH stands for "We Overcome Recidivism Through Healing" and is the first Human Trafficking court of its kind in North Carolina.
