Multi media Presentation on (DID) Dissociative Identity Disorder

Toniza Walcott

My podcast looks into In the social construct view of family and work institutions someone living with a split personality disorder may have a difficult time fitting and adjusting to society. When it comes to having this disorder it may also be difficult for the family setting of understanding and how to support someone who is facing this disorder. The film “Split” gives a somewhat example of what it is to live with a split personality disorder but there is more to this disorder when looking at it in society.

Multi Media Presentation on (DID) Dissociative Identity Disorder

Just because you have split personality or dissociative identity disorder (DID) which is a multiple personality disorder does not mean it is schizophrenia. And this is one reason why I choose to cover split personality disorder and use the film “Split” as a modern film platform. I believe this topic is interesting and important to highlight to others because of the misleading perception behind the split personality disorder. And to cover what it is to have and live with a split personality disorder compared to having and living with schizophrenia. It is also important to learn the myths behind the disorder and the facts, so this disorder does not go under as “not real” or “just acting”. And using the film “Split” a modern film can help others understand that not everyone with a split personality disorder is portrayed only that way and that it is showing some form of split personality to a split mind which is schizophrenia. In the social construct view of family and work institutions someone living with a split personality disorder may have a difficult time fitting and adjusting to society. When it comes to having this disorder it may also be difficult for the family setting of understanding and how to support someone who is facing this disorder.
