In this episode, John provides an overview of the upcoming Nonclinical Career Summit, being held on April 16, 17 and 18, 2024. This is a live event, offering 4 lectures with a Q&A over 50-minute sessions each evening.
This year’s content starts with a focus on discovering whether it is possible to remain in clinical medicine when faced with dissatisfaction or outright burnout while in practice. Several lectures are dedicated to ways to provide medical care that is fulfilling and meaningful while maintaining control and balance in the clinician’s life.
Several specific examples of cash-only practices and health-related businesses, such as a weight loss clinic, MedSpa, and Infusion Lounge are presented. And there is a focus on protecting yourself legally while creating an asset that can be sold at the appropriate time.
Finally, four nonclinical part-time side gigs are discussed, including 3 types of popular freelance consulting businesses and using real estate investing as another strategy for generating income and creating assets.
